I've heard storys of how they put thumb tacks on the tuneing hammers on pianos to get differnt tones and sounds in those days,,this brings it to mind,,I am a huge fan of this man,,and I truely envy his talent..
THis seriously sounds like a harpsichord. I know it's not due to the way in which there is dynamic control literally, as opposed to changing the voicings as trad harpsichord players do to vary dynamics. Any idea what the instrument is?
eep! goooood song!

My dad passed away to cancer a few months ago- but his wonderful legacy as musician and father still lives on. You know how?
He and I shared one wonderful thing in common: the LOVE of the blues, and Otis Spann. :) I play his stuff on piano all the time, just for him. <3
Thanks for posting! =]

This is an old upright piano with worn out parts for sure. That's how it supposed to sound when you play the blues :-)

Ya take an old upright piano, and ya put thumb tacks in the strikers, and that's how you get it to sound like this!

'Great' indeed
For me he sits alongside Erroll Garner not just the musical genius but also their passion and feeling - top drawer stuff.
Many Thanks Davo !
