How does this make him a liar? He campaigned in 2007 for single payer, while a Senator. Seeing single payer reform wasn't likely to be passed as President, he campaigned on the Public Option in 2008. When the public option could not move through the Senate, he had to support the current bill, which was public-option-less, less robust, but still had many provisions including small business subsidies, and making it illegal for people with pre-existing conditions to be denied coverage.
@NCMan28025 Answering this question a year later I now believe Democrats didn't want actual health care reform. Just like Republicans they are payed off by big pharma and insurance companies to mandate people into private health care, at the expense of their health, wallet, and even lives. Its just terrible.
