spearhead from space and terror of the autons are near enough the same story, i'd go as far as to say that terror of the autons is a remake of spearhead from space
It was early in the morning :p and Channing (disguised "human" Auton) says earlier in the story the Autons have been dispersed countrywide, including "waxworks" of prominent figures...
This is my favorite Doctor Who episode. I started watching the show from the first Jon Pertwee show, and loved it. I wish I could watch the show with the uncritical eyes of a child again. That's how the shows are meant to be watched...
I actually watched them filming this - very early one Sunday morning in 1969. The location (if anyone is interested) is the junction of Uxbridge Road with High Street in Ealing Broadway W5. As PDFandTRIPLEJ says the shop is now a Marks & Spencer.
This scared me so much when i first saw it! this episode was repeated on uk gold sometime in the early 90s, i was only little, and after seeing this scene, i could never look a shop dummie in the eye again!!

Ealing should be the epicentre of all invasions.

if this was filmed using modern day cinematography it would be so much scarier haha

the strange thing is
this is creepier than new who partially because of the poor special effects so they dnt look all that much like manequins

proof, if any was needed, that the new series isn't in the same league as the classic series, the Pertwee era in particular

Chavs are like cockroaches - even a nuclear
blast couldn't eradicate them.

Yes, mush better.

With the rather low ratio of Autons to Londoners, the majority of Londoners have little to fear from the terrifying attack -LOL.

I remember this scene vividly. I was 6 and it scared the life out of me.
I remember being horrified that they shot a policeman.
Loved Jon Pertwee as the doctor - and for me he'll always be Dr Who.
