Be aware, the narrator refers to the refining process as "cracking" instead of the correct term "fractional distillation". Separating the oil fractions in to useful products is distillation. Changing the fractions in to lighter, smaller chain hydrocarbons, which are more useful is "cracking". The two are very different.
