  • der hatte lieber komiker werden sollen

  • Was zur Hölle ist bitte ein Schmüdo? Yayy Fantastischen 4 :]

  • It does mean "i'm a jelly donut" but it also means "I am from Berlin"

  • hihi Auf Wiedersehen =D Sounds really cute!!!

But didn't really get what you said in german, even though I'm native speaker hahahaa :D

  • prounciation was quite good, I don´t think you slaughtered our language :)

  • lol !!!

  • Ich spreche kein deutsch,

mein deutsch ist verdammte scheiße! :P

doch ich versteh mehr ich sag.

und ja, ich bin aus Amerika.

  • ch is not K O-O

  • Gee, cool down. Not everyone's interested in languages. Some people learn all about chemistry or physics, other's about history, others about economy and it all makes them understand their world better. But one person can't be interested in everything and they don't need to.

  • See we ended up in relaxation ;) so I still consider it proved that language skills are of huge importance ;) have a nice day

  • In the end I wanted to state once more, that I personally find, that people who speak one language should also learn something about the most related languages to get a better feeling for their own language and to improve their understanding for what they say and to see new options how to express themselves. So, in the end it is not like english once was fallen from out of the blue sky...To have maximum communication skills is cruital.

  • I'd say you're right, I really were prejuding in your case - I was for some reason upset by those stupid and natoinalistic comments in here. Please accept my apologies. Furtherly I was not self-inflating, I just said that I speak five languages and that I profit a lot from that and on multiple levels. And for that reason caused by my experiences, I still disagree there could be Ai REASON for not learning a language expect lack of intelligence or a general possibilities.

  • Sorry messed it up. ...for not learning a language except lack of intelligence or general educational possibilities. Have a good one...

  • You suck a lot. We live in todays Europe and you're seriously trying to tell the world there is no need to learn other languages. I speak five languages (all west germanic languages;english, german, dutch)and I really think I profit a lot from it. I understand my own language better and it improves general communication abilities. If this is your true opinion, your intelligence is nothing except pulp. And with that you fullfill another stereotype: uneducated, pathetic nationalist...thx 4 the attn

  • u r sweet ;)

  • the song´s crap really (there are better songs by fanta 4...) but your pronunciation´s not too bad actually. I was teaching German in Ireland, so I know the problem. I think German´s a really difficult language to learn when you have English as a mother tongue. To solve your "ich bin ein Berliner"-problem: Berliner obviously means "person from Berlin" in German (and in Berlin)- outside the Berlin region "Berliner" DOES mean jelly doghnut, in Berlin a jelly doghnut is called "pancake"

  • ur gay

  • hi!

I'm german. Have I understood it right? you was at a german school? and you only learn how to swear and say things like "I don't speak any german"? strange.

In one year I will finish school and maybe I will go for half a year to america. And I really hope that then I can speak nearly perfect english.

But I'm sure that if you would agonise you would also know other german words :)

    greets from germany

  • I'm thinking that also. What an arrogant "Princeton" guy and typical American.

  • Oh yes, I am a typical American and have a solid arrogant streak. It's my biggest character flaw, but here I was just having fun.

  • im in america right now thay have a school to lern english

  • good luck with that, it is well worth learning another language and I can only hope one day to find the time to study yours.

  • thanks. actually I just studied German AT school when I was twelve or so. I haven't really studied it seriously since.

    Thanks for the kind words.

  • not too bad...

  • Good german you got there buddy. :)

    why dont you continue learning?

    Auf Wiedersehen.

  • I would love to, plus I just found out there is a German society which meets at my favorite cafe.

So far I have only bothered with dead languages.

  • oh really?

    i love learning german.

it's nice to see other people interested in it.

  • i´m proud that somebody is interested in learning our speech, thank you. Well done

  • oh are you german?

i love everything about the german culture. the language the food.. everything!

i really wanna go to germany and finish my german learning.

  • thanks four slaughtering or language! :) no need to apologize, I love to watch videos like this one :)

  • anytime

  • Weird clip but you are cute...

so in fact you have something in common with a jelly doughnut - du bist süß...

  • danke

  • the best video i've seen here of an not german guy ;)...mach weiter so !!!

  • thanks. I appreciate that.

  • or should I say, "Danke schön"

  • Bitte schön ! ;)

  • hehehe unterhaltsam!

  • Berliner are Donuts, but not in Berlin. In Berlin are donuts "Pfannkuchen". But "Pfannkuchen" in the south of germany is "Eierkuchen". But "Eierkuchen" is not a "pfannkuchen" in Berlin. In Berlin "Eierkuchen" is a kind of "Crepes". Pfannkuchen are Donuts in Prussia. In the Rest of Germany they are Berliners. (((:

  • thanks, fluxional. I am amazed how much I have learned from simply posting this video.

  • you are such a clever guy!more amazing!

    :P

  • Actually Berliner are called Krapfen in the south of Germany. Down here in the south Pfannkuchen and Eierkuchen are quite the same, although we don't use the word Eierkuchen. Crepes are usually only very thin Pfannkuchen. Whereas in Austria Crepes are called Palatschinke. So there are actually 4 Words for almost the same food :)

  • awesome. thanks.

  • I disagree. In Saxony, even in the GDR, we call the stuff as you said would be in Berlin only.

  • germany >,< *kotst*

  • heeeehhhhh òó

  • oh, I think all the not native speakers of english have to apollogize not you.

    your rap was really good!

  • wow. thanks. I like to think I have an ear for languages. Unfortunately, the only ones I have learned formally are dead.

  • So.. sweet.. I am from germany and i liked your little rap.. *rofl* really.. did i tell you, that i always wanted to marry a man with an english accent.. ;-)

  • well, at the moment, about all I have going for me is my accent. :D

  • When a person uses the indefinite article (ein) before a his town of origin, the meaning of that word is changed to whatever food it may be. "I am a person from Berlin" = "Ich bin Berliner." Berliner is also a doughnut, so "Ich bin ein Berliner" makes it the doughnut. It's the same thing with Frankfurter, which is a sausage and a person from Frankfurt.

  • hehe, good going!

  • You're so hot. Really. And cute. Pity you don't go dancing in Baires!

  • I love the Fantaschtischen Vier! I have a couple of their albums! Sie sind sehr toll!

  • nice, i actually don't own any. My friend's had them so I never bought a copy. :(

  • I amazed how many people (considering my meager channel) seem to enjoy this.

    thanks for the kind words.

  • that´s so cute! ;O)

  • thanks for the kind words and for the understanding ear (considering my terrible german, etc., etc.)

  • no, it was not so bad... by the way, great idea with that book of yours! Greetz, marty

  • I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed that. OMG, you know die fantastischen Vier? That is so cool. And you nailed it pretty well, too. Gzus, was that song *that* long ago?

Anyway, here's my favourite line from that song:

    "Der Thomas, der Thomas, ich bin der Thomas. Ich mich die Mütter meiner Mädels gerne jung zu Omas." (c;

Can you understand that line? See it as an exercise.

  • Aeric made a typo. It has to be "Ich mach' die Mütter..." The word is machen (make). Have fun translating :D Cya

  • thanks.

  • Oh my word, don't you hate it when unnecessary typos creep in just when you really don't need them? LoL

  • you gentleman are stretching my limits of German. I could cheat and use babel fish but I refuse. I'll keep you posted when I figure it out...I think I have a German-English dictionary somewhere.

  • Haha, great. "Der Smudo, der Smudo, ich bin's, der Smudo, ich mache kein Karate und ich mache kein Judo!" :D Nice rhymes =)

  • I glad you enjoyed it. For some reason it remains permenantly eched in my mind.

  • er, etched

  • Yeah, in mine too. I used to listen to their music the same time as you. "Ist es die da, die da am Eingang steht? Oder die da, die dir den Kopf verdreht?" ;)

  • Das ist die da, um die es sich auch bei mir dreht. (c;
