@FarazR2 , this amp has such a great bright clean channel that you just add your effects and play anything!Overdrive channel is kinda raw.. you neen to make it sweeter. A delay pedal would definitely add some spice to this overdrive. I hope this helps. George
I remember that tone!!! I had one of these amps in the early 80s. That and a 1980 Ibanez AR300 gave me a very similar tone to what I hear in this video clip. Wish I hadn't sold that amp. DOH!!
any valve amp would be better than a digital one.
All digital effects may sound impressive but the analog sound of a tube amp is much more real.. if you know what I mean.. It is your choice.. get to your guitar dealer and try a couple of tube amps..Good luck bro.
I just got one of these amps today.... A nice portable compliment to my X-100B half-stack! A few scuffs, but in very good shape. Mine's the '+' model.. No footswitch, but I've figured out how to short a jumper cable to get the drive channel...
are you kidding me??? Go grab it before someone else does!!! It costs a lot more if it really is in a very good condition! Mind that this is a "rare - most wanted" model!
can you tell me your settings? I can't seem to get a decent sound like that out of mine

@xJOEYPOISONx , I am not sure of the year. Mid 80's I guess. No matter what, it sounds so fine! Rock on bro!

thejmaker 2 years ago
is that a typical price for this amp? there's one on my local craigslist for $500.
SodiumMonkey 2 years ago
well... mind that it may need new tubes or speaker..or both! 500 sounds too low..
thejmaker 2 years ago
saw one at my local guitar center store on sale used for $549 yesterday...
SodiumMonkey 2 years ago
well... even if it needs to replace some stuff.. it is still a bargain! go get it!!!
thejmaker 2 years ago
saw another one on sale for $475 and it had brand new tubes. $500 seems to be about standard around here.

I'm pretty sure a steaming pile of dog poop would sound better to a line 6 spider 3.
No offense to any line 6 players out there.
But yeah man, tube amps are the way to go.

lol ive got a line6 spider III 75w but ive got a peavey valveking 112 coming sometime this week, cant wait, its my first valve amp.
