This why I got a Jag Tempest 2000, Dooms not too bad, a few flaws, Tempest X3 doesn't seem to have the edge that this has for some reason, never played X3 though.
haha, you still up at this time, I didnt think there'd be much in it between em, Just been watching vids about Space Giraffe again, no that looks like a mental Tempest type game, but I dont have a 360, so Im off to find the PC version......
i grew up playing atari games thru emulation, so when i talk about the atari i cant really say which one as there are so many, but i was actually thinking of picking up a jaguar once, but by the time i had some money it was already sold
I think they're one of those machines you'd either love or hate.
Most (though not all) of the software is pretty shoddy, looking like rushed AGA Amiga games, and some of the in-game samples and voices are hysterically bad.
Oddly though, I like this rough and ready aspect of the Jag's games.
They're no-where near as slick as games on other systems, but they make me chuckle.
Jag's are very easy to find on ebay, but not as cheap as they used to be, after Retro Gamer magazine featured them.
This was the only game I bought for the Jaguar, since I was well-informed about its library in general. The original arcade version was in color, for the record. Also, yeah, Jeff Minter. I've loved most of the stuff he's done. I even recently discovered, quite by accident, his first (or nearly first) commercial effort, Andes Attack on the Vic 20. A decent Defender ripoff.
Steve great vids, but instead of boring yourself with that same speech "This isn't a review...etc" Why not just have a title screen before your vids with the words on?. Keep up the great vids! :D
I guess I could, but that'd mean getting into using video editing software, and increase production time. With so many vids to record, that's more time than I want to spend editing.
Yeah I understand. I suppose you could use the youtube captions option, but your vids are fun to watch anyway. I just sensed your frustration from saying those words over and over lol :D
Would you say the PC version is worth playing?

@TheSymbianFreak I don't know as I haven't played it for more than a couple of minutes around 12 years ago.

There's not much in it. This is a bit more mad... more stuff swirling about visually. Gameplay is pretty much identical.
I play X3 more, just because I can play in in my PS3... but if I had the Jag set up all the time, I'd play this.

I played this at Game On for the first time last year, and I hope Nintendo start releasing Atari games on the Wii Virtual Console.

Tempest used Vector graphics. Real complex stuff for the time, and the reason it used to overheat.
