I just quit in the middle of step 13....will this affect my computers performance badly or will it be fine as long as i completed the steps correctly? I stopped at about part 13 d.
Once you follow it correctly then nothing will go wrong. If you plan to clean your registry then make sure you use ccleaner, you can do a general cleaning with ccleaner also.
Yes I know that service pack 3 is out. But what are the benefits of it? The only major fixes that service pack 3 has done deals with networking. What's the use if my (old) computer isn't on a network?
Because deleting some barely 1kb that doesn't get used isn't going to give you a performance increase opposed to getting new hardware. Leaving the registry cleaning to a software tool is risky and they have caused problems before. Manually 'fixing' the registry is more hassle than its worth; to truly make your computer seem 'fast' again is a fresh install combined with the methods you mentioned in your video. Good video though.
You're right about that but leaving you computer to run without registry cleaning at all would drag the performance a little because the steady installation and unistallation of files etc leaves entries in the registry that is not needed and in a couple months you can have over 300 registry items that need to be cleaned. After you clean, you will notice the boost in speed. I'm talking from experience because it boosted my startup and overall performance, everything was smoother than before.
This video is mainly based on xp. Most of the regedit tweaks for speeding up the pc are not available for vista. The only one i think you can possibly get working on vista is speeding up the start menu delay which is (a)
that can't be possible unless you followed the information wrongly. I hope you used a top notch registry cleaner because lots of registry cleans clean the wrong registry entries therefore slowing the computer
Watch Part 1 then part 2, follow the steps and it will speed up your computer. What mainly slows your computer is processes, the more processes means the more memory is being used up. Literally the best thing to do is buy more memory. If you want to signifacally speed up your computer another way, you should start uninstalling all the programs you don't need, end all the automatic startup of programs that doesn't need to and then do a major cleanup after. There will be a noticable change.
If you want to make it easier and better, the best thing you can ever do is install the operating system all over again but it takes time to configure and install programs again but it can be worth it.
Speed up your computer by:
-- cleaning system junk
-- optimizing computer services
-- optimizing internet
-- repairing registry
-- defraging registry
-- clearing browsers junk
do these things with some secure tool such as Intel Software Partner Reginout.
Thanks

windows xp/vista/7 don't need anti-virus software.
no software is needed to speed up a computer.
Windows already supplies you with tweak tools;
Virtual Memory, Disk cleanup, control center, setting your computer to allow the files you want will prevent viruses.
