As india & Israel have strong military ties and are major trading partners a concern is that Australian uranium could finish up in weaponry to be used against Iran in any attacks as Israel is making war threats daily. Australia should not be involved in any military action nor assist Israel as it is a rogue non compliant nation.

Why doesn't Australia support development of Thorium technology? There are various peaceful countries like India pursuing the use of Thorium, which is inherently a much safer material than uranium.

There is a nuclear technology that is safe but greedy people that are worried about profits stick to the old nuclear technology that was developed through nuclear weapons research. There is a technology that can use the nuclear waste from the current nuclear plants that they keep burrying in the ground. No progress is being made with this technology because it is considerably more expensive (Fast breeder Thorium Reactors) something needs to be done.

@AetherNRG4Free well...India actually has 2 FBR's operational, the latter being a 500MWe unit, if any country, then India will perfect thorium reactors, simply because they have 25% of the world's Th and almost no Uranium...we here in North America will always stick to Uranium simply because we have a lot of it up here in Canada and partially because for some reason, our population has become very anti-nuclear

We in Germany walk the road to turn off the nuclear plants. Seven old ones have been turned off up to the Moratorium to make a savety check. 250.000 people and on the eastermonday 140.000 people again. On the 28.of may we will start in 20 big citys again.
