  • please oh please post the rest of this beautiful story

  • This is the greatest mini series of all time!

  • is reading this book... must...not...watch...the ending !!!!

  • Love this movie.....I bought the VCR set (4) in 1997 for $100.00....Was worth it.....

  • Henry Mancini wrote the music theme i never knew no wonder its beautifull

  • Love this miniseries but my biggest complaint is that no one bothered to speak with Irish or Australian accents.

  • Many thanks for uploading The Thorn Birds as it was one of my favourite T.V. series when it was first broadcast on Britsh T.V. , by the way does anyone know who wrote the book of the series, and if I can get hold of it anywhere. I'd be grateful if you'd let me know.

  • @SuperGazza1970 The Book is written by Colleen McCullough...I don't know where you can find it, but I'm sure if you google it you can find it either in a library or in an online store...this makes me appreciate my copy...even with it's old weathered cover...:) Hope you find it and enjoy it as much as I do.

  • thanks for it I was looking for this movie for ages! xx

  • Why didn´t they include the ´missing years´ in series they made in 1983, I mean with the same cast. I didn´t understand why they left out 20 years in the story.

  • whoa!! my all time fave, finally found it!...I didn't know youtube will allow this? thanked god they did. ..oh I still remember back in the days...I soo Love Maggie....

and Ralph....especially Maggie! lol....[wiggling my eyebrows]

  • I wish i see this movie in english subt!! maybe someone will tell em about, I saw this move 15 years ago..I wish i see again but with subtitrare romanein or englsih! who can help me?/

  • They speak with an American accent, how absurd! This doesn't feel Australian at all to me.

  • @dmbctau who says its meant to be Australian? sorry, but haven't read the book or seen this for 20 years or so, can't remember! I know it was written by an aussie, but the accents and the house style aint vaguely australian

  • The setting of the story is in Australia.

  • If Ralph followed true bible teaching he would have married Meggie. 1 Corinthians 7:9 >>

    New International Version

But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

(If he was a Pastor he could be with Meggie and they could have been married & lived happily ever after)

  • I've never watched this mini series. I will now, thanks for posting.

  • i thought they beautified mary carson a lot

  • They say this was filmed in Simi Valley, California, where I used to live. Ironically, Little House on the Prarie was also filmed in the Simi Valley area.

  • to be honest, Mary Carson looks like she was very beautiful as a young woman...but she still scares and annoys the hell out of me

  • Australia is so wild and huge and beautiful.I love the landscape even if i can remember if wasn't shot in Australia. It is gorgeous! And the sheep and the roses are just splendid. Thanks for posting this movie but could you upload the rest please? The parts 27,28 and the rest. of the saga when you can. Many thanks, thanks very much!

  • my mom and I love this move/show.

  • I remember LOVING this mini-series when it first aired. I don't think I've seen it since. Thanks for posting. It's as great as I remembered it being!

  • I hope this mini series is never remade....I can't imagine anyone taking the place of Father Ralph and Mege...this is such a tear jerker...my favorite mini series of all time and I am 58 so I've seen a lot of them! Barbara Stanwick is fantastic in her role and shows that no matter how old you are, inside you are still your young self.

  • The book is infinitely better. This disgraces it.

  • Wow...I have watched this vid in the 80's....Im 39yrs old now, and still cant believe that Im watching it now.......brings back memories,,,of familys friends, who have gone...through out the years...thanx for posting,,,,,I love Meggie,,,she is so beautiful...and Richard Chamberlain is sooo charming... Luvvit!!!

  • awww Dr. Kildare - I lost the glossy 8 x 10 you sent me during my teen years...

  • Comment removed

  • I would love to see a remake of this starring Johnny Depp and some pretty blonde actress I know they're out there but can't think of a single one.Suggestions? I love Richard Chamberlain always have but I would love to see a heterosexual actor play this part, make it more believable.

I would also love to have the entire movie including before they moved to AUS.

  • @TheSkylur44 Johnny fucking Depp?? No way no how. The guy is a total bore

  • @sondano You're right, I don't know why I chose him, I think Ralph Fiennes would be a much better choice, he has the looks and the sensitive face to play that part and he's heterosexual. BIG plus.

  • Thank you for uploading this masterpiece miniseries. I finally purchased this on DVD and it's one of my favorites. I never tire of watching it. Love Richard Chamberlain! This is a miniseries that is perfect in its original form, not to be remade ever. Thanks again!

  • Thank you for uploading this masterpiece. I watched whole movie last year and talked to my friend about 10 people and we shared the story. After that I was so disappointed that youtube removed this. I even bought this book again because old one is too shabby. thank you soooooo much !

  • When I saw I could watch this online tears of happiness came to my eyes. Nothing makes me happier than to watch this series. It's just heaven. Thank you for posting it. :)

btw, has anyone noticed that at 9:31 it's clearly visible that Barbara's horse is led by someone?

  • @cineceleb I haven't noticed that until you mentioned it(: That so made my day! That tickled me to death(:

  • @cineceleb Yes I noticed.I saw a hand pulling ahead the horse. You're right and have a good sense of observation.

  • @cineceleb that is so crazy!!! I've seen this a million times since it originally aired and even have it on vhs from when it first aired while I was in high school. i never noticed that person's arm in the shot! :)

  • @cineceleb Wow, spot on. Good catch.
