Thank you so much! どもありがと!

  • Is he your boyfriend???

  • I´ve been watching your videos for some time. I wanted to go to Japan since forever. As soon as I´ll have finished my master degree next summer, I´m gonna take a plan to Japan and do a working holiday for one year. Japanese used to be one of my project, i've alway been curious about other culture. I'm french, ve learnt English, bit of Spanish, Japanese's gonna be a huge challenge. But hey you're right. Dreams don't come up themselves.

Thank for this vidz, warmed my heart.

  • ね~ね~?竜平って彼氏なのかな?

  • 今日初めてあなたの動画を見ました!

    とても日本語が上手ですね∀゜★

    後、とても考え方が素晴らしい方だとも思いました!

    これからも頑張ってください。

  • ciaela for president :D

  • Very wise words, I enjoyed listening to this video very much. It was great to hear something so uplifting, positive, thoughtful, etc for once in a very long time.

I have been studying Japanese for a long while, and can sadly say I have come nowhere close to where I would like to be by now. Now, when I feel like I can't study any more, or find myself at a bored spot, I'll refer back to this video to remember what I'm truly aiming for.

    Thank you.

  • いい動画だった!カナダへ帰省する動画も面白かったけどこれもいい!お互い頑張ろう!

  • Aww, haha, Ryuhei(spelling?) is a stellar dude. He wants to know exactly what to say if he's put on the spot like in this video, but he's the best the way he is!

I liked your journal of early Japanese writing, Ciaela! Here, on YouTube, we only see the experienced gaijin. It's nice to be able to see some of how you started your journey!

Thanks for sharing a little bit of your new years experience with us! We will be here with you both for another year, for sure. ;)

  • Your japanese is really good in the ending of the video.

and your writting wasnt so terrible. Its readable (thats important).

and thanks for the encouragement, my My Ex thought that it was stupid of me to go to japan (at the time he wasnt my ex Until he said that to me).

  • @KieranAngelLove

lol you broke up with him just cause he said that? A bit extreme isn't it

  • @TJPguy well he used more vulgar language at me then just "Stupid" and i dont think it would be wise to list those swear words on here, so I sugar coated it. lol.

  • @KieranAngelLove

Ohh right, I see, sorry bout that :/

  • @TJPguy it alright.

  • Is that your boyfriend?

  • I felt as if you have said to me. thank you.

  • congrats On winning :)

  • AH so inspiring! You almost made me cry!

  • You are such a beautiful person, inside and out ^_^ Honestly, I can just tell that you have a heart of gold. <3 He's lucky to have you!

  • Thank you so much for the amazing words you spoke. I almost cried. Thank You so Much! I subscribed to you! ^_^

  • Thank you

  • I started watching your channel a few months ago and your videos are always so inspirational!

It has always been my dream to go to Japan and sometimes I feel like this dream will never happen. But you're right about taking the first step to try and make your dreams come true. Nothing is impossible. All it takes is a little effort each and everyday to try and work hard towards your dream. I don't want to give up my dream so easily without even trying, so thanks for those encouraging words! =)

  • Thank you for this video, you always make me cry with the inspiring words you say.

Sometimes I think it's so hard to try and go to Japan, but when seeing your videos I just can't give up.

    Thank you for this :)

  • I have the same Domo-Kun plushy. He sits on a shelf in my room as the guardian of all things mine.

  • very inspiring video! thx!

  • great video. esp the beginning. i also like watching the fireplace program... and "looking like a chump"

i think ppl really overestimate the difficulty of visiting a foreign place. i went to england twice and it was easy enough, just save up money and get cheap hostel etc. but people irl get so shocked that i could somehow travel to europe?? it's not that hard i think??

  • Did you use music from Kingdom Hearts for the cellar scene? I'm almost certain that I've heard that melody in some video game.

P.S. You're so lucky that you play the guitar; pianists don't have the liberties in terms of mobility. Keep rocking:)

  • thank you..

  • いい話をしてくれてありがとうね。

    君は本当にしっかりしているね。

    たくさんの人が笑顔になるように、自分も何かの役に立てれるようになりたいです。

    英語も覚えたいです。

  • @RusconiDom We don't have such riveting television in aus xD

  • awww ciaela, that was so inspiring! Your channel is my inspiration, because I want to learn japanese(witch I will do this year =3) and I want to go to Japan, but for this I have to save money and I'm already planning how to do that. I'm only 17 and I have already traveled to 4 different countries, including Canada! Learning new cultures is a pleasure for me,I love new challenges. Thanks for the advises and the great channel!

  • That was very inspiring. =)

  • I want to go through more of your stuff!! :D

I love going through people's things and display homes and stuff :3

That piano track was a killer btw. Think I might put it on my iphone and play it when I talk to sound inspirational and insightful. :D Not that what you were saying wasn't. :3

  • Wow, I thought teaching myself Japanese was going pretty well, but you were kicking my ass even when you were 17.

  • What you said between 1:44 and 2:58 so inspiring, Cieala!

  • 明けましておめでとうございます, Ciaela-さま! 2011年もどうぞよろしくお願いします!

Good video, thanks for the uplifting words. Personally, I would've preferred a Japanese video with English subtitles. I like the challenge of seeing how much I can understand without resorting to the subtitles. じゃ ね

  • @Expresso98 You assume too much of me. My Japanese isn't fluent enough to say it in Japanese and have it have the same impact. English is my first language, and the easiest way for me to express myself. For simple things, or funny stories, things where it doesn't matter if I make mistakes--I don't mind using Japanese then.

  • @Ciaela O well, at least you convey the impression of being an advanced JPZ speaker! ^_^

  • @RusconiDom IT IS! We watched for a while, and I kept telling him "SOMETIMES YOU EVEN SEE THE HAND, OR A NEW LOG BEING ADDED" then just as I decided to start recording a video, IT HAPPENED!

  • @Ciaela It's a channel over there?! Pay TV or free to air? We have to buy DVDs!!

  • @yumyumsesame It's a channel, and it plays 24-7. It's wonderful.

  • While you're there, talk to everyone and decide what you could get from Kamloomps or the surrounding area to export to Japan that would be in demand so that you can start your import company. DO EEETTT.

  • good advice!!

i think that for those who are currently students, a big first step and a great opportunity is to just go study abroad for a year.

  • LOL i love his accent. X3

  • This is a such an inspiring video! I've a daily viewer of your vlogs for sometime now and I'm finally heading to Japan to work this year to Teach English (After visiting twice and loving it!), your video has just made me realise my dream is becoming reality. Thankyou for adding to my inspiration to do this and thankyou for all your awesome advice ^___^ Hope to see many videos from you in 2011!

  • awesome

  • When and how did you learn Japanese????

  • @sidewayznut2009 @sidewayznut2009 This video made about 1.5 years ago might help explain that-it's called My Life in A Nutshell.

  • @KirkasPaiva o well thanks!!

  • 7 people don't have dreams.

  • @PunkPlaidKitty that or they're lazy bums and hate to see other people getting off of their asses making their dreams come true (because they're too lazy to do something about it themselves)

  • so inspiring

  • 1:44 till 3:10 is the best part I've ever heard in a J-vlog :D

    greetz from Holland :D

  • does your boyfriend have a channel? he is funny :D

  • That was a really inspirational video, thanks for that.

  • yay! i am actually in japan right now! i got here on the 5th and i'm staying until late march. its my first time here and i'm pretty disappointed in my japanese, but i just need to think about how much better i'll be by the end.

thanks so much for this video. i really needed it :)

    oh and cute ending :P

  • @Ciaela

Quebec is a beautiful place, lived there for 5 years.

Did you make the music to this video? If you did, it helped with getting your point across.

Agree with the GOAL thing Japan can be a tough place to live but rewarding when you put in the hard work and it starts to pay off.

  • lmao ryuhei is awesome
