and yeah... you can bring that food with you if you wanna spend 200 bucks on food in every hike,,,,
UNLIKE THIS GUY IN THE VIDEO.. I'M NOT RICH.. AND MY HIKES HAVE TO BE PLANNED AND BUDGETED. I DON'T HAVE A $400 BACKPACK OR A $300 SLEPPING BAG. I DID THE WHOLE SECTION OF APPALACHIAN TRAIL IN NJ (73 MI) WITH THIS:
BACKPACK $14
STOVE: 2 CANS
TENT $25
S. BAG $25
FOOD FOR A WEEK $15
HAD A GREAT TIME... IT'S JUST A WALK IN THE WOODS GUYS!
crack ur eggs at home put in container. they scramble as u walk along. pour in pan and cook. you dont have to worry about them getting broke .np. karen
This is for people who are smart enough for no that If you're going camping for 1 week, you can't bring fresh food and canned food doesn't always suffice.
Military MREs are ok. however, I like fresh eggs, bacon, ham, spam, cereal, hot grits, oatmeal, french toast, when my sons and I backpack, we are not out to cover 70 miles per day, we go backpacking to get away from the crowds so we can 'CAMP" ..we always have a great campsite....I will be posting videos soon.
@rongenman I agree, although I do more of just "hiking through" "tactics" so I am going to stick to MRE's but trust me I am a BIG camper so its always a great meal when I get to cook up some bacon out in the woods :D Ill be sure to check your vids out!
@SBPStudio This is late but ANY Army Navy Store, but Id call them first, the Military MRE vs Civilian MRE are DIFFERENT. (try to spend the extra $1 and get the military one... ask first
im punking on the brink...all that ugly chemical crap moreover this stuff is quiet expensive....use army combat rations !!! :)( no u.s.-rations...same crap) substantial, cheap and tasty...my recommendation: german army field rations called "epa"
Actually, Spam comes in individual packs now. Light wieght, and easy to carry. Great for breakfast on the trail. Also the "Ice cream" freezed dried meal pack REALLY is horrible!!!! Dont waste your money! Ours are really good, Like the stews.
Rehydrate? Sounds like LRRPS that we used in SE Asia.

Dave Canaberry/ the pathfinderschool suggests ramen noodles and beef jerky for a decent "pour-mans" camping food.
RavenBlaze 1 year ago
Good idea. MREs are great, but quite heavy for the amount. This lets you carry more food for the same weight.
Only downside is the need for water and/or cooking.
Good thoughts, thanks!

Ramen noodles and high mileage...until you get to the next town. Then consume nutrients for the next section. Repeat. Over and over and over again.
