Thank you Senator Bartlett, I was curious about what the budget documentation was like, with a multi-billion dollar budget I would expect a lot of paper - are you expected to read every page of those books?
No, I doubt any one person reads every single page on their own. People focus on the area/s of particular interest or expertise, and also rely on comments and questions from others who have expertise. The 8 Senate Committees also look at the ones which come under their specific areas of responsibility - between them they cover the lot.
