You have no idea what you're talking about. Congress has a plenary spending power under Article 1, sec. 8 to "provide... for the general Welfare." That clause justifies social security, medicare, infrastructure spending, etc etc etc. That was Alexander Hamilton's interpretation of the General Welfare Clause, and not a single Supreme Court justice has ever questioned it.

The whole point of the Constitution was to establish a strong central govt. Look up Shays Rebellion.

From what I have seen Tea Party-ers do understand what socialism is. Socialism is when the government runs things, not for profit, but for the public good. I think tea-partiy-ers are most against something called "socialism for the rich"..like the bailout!!

I support them in this because it would save the rest of us all a lot of money. Why should the rest of us fund socialism for those who just complain about it? Tea Party-ers are free to try to go find a country or start a country without any socialist programs, services & utilities. Until then, they should shut the fuck up!
