  • In-ear monitors to a number of things. They keep the band in time, let the player hear their instrument well and block out the sound of the concert (being on stage is fucking loud).

    This is Chris'.

  • OMG i was there! I have this track! I cried as hell... I love MotP!

  • This is Chris'. Drummers have a vocal cue in their ears most of the time that cues when they are suppost to start. Since you cannot hear it in this one it's hard to tell. Seeing that you can hear Chris' vocals very well i would say it's his due to him wanting to sound good with vocals.

  • It's Chris', I got this from MUSE bootlegs, where the uploader said it was from Chris :)

  • @M1D1Manson He recorded it by tuning it to the same frequency as their wireless inear monitors, i believe.

  • It's Chris, Dom wouldn't need Chris' backing vocals.

  • It actually sounds quite cool with the click track :)

  • It actually sounds quite cool with the click track :)

  • How did you get this?

  • Almost lost a testicle in 4:42, that bass is HEAVY.

  • change the title please...its quite misleading, but...oh well,, the content is out of this world...xD

  • I can't give a thumb down for Muse...I just can't.

  • chris's voice!!

  • Is no one wondering why the hell they play with clicktrack on ALL the songs I mean come on :S

  • @Dehaze1 they do it to keep time playing live

  • @Dehaze1 They play to a click to sync up the lighting show to the audio!!

  • @Dehaze1 they always play with clicktracks. And always did.

  • @Dehaze1 They play with a click track ot keep in time :-S not just with themselves but with the lights and synths that are being played in the background

  • @Dehaze1 It's because they're playing with a synthesiser track and the guitar effects are set to a certian tempo. To put it bluntly, they HAVE to use a clicker track on songs like that because It's not up to the drummer to set the rythm. Instead of playing in time to Dom, they ALL have to play in time to the synth and effects tempo. They use the in-ear monitor to keep track of the synth timing. As for the rest, it's probably handy to know that you can keep time even if the drummer suddenly dies.

  • @Dehaze1 They also probably have to do it so that the engineers and instrument techs are keyed in to what the band is doing (I imagine the necessary crew also have in-ear monitors to pass on instructions and to hear what's being played more clearly). The lighting and visuals also can't be changed, so the band needs to know whether or not they're playing in time to them.

  • @451harri Exactly man :)

  • @drummerdude1411 it's only to keep in time with the visuals and the lighting, as they would want to stay in sync otherwise it would just look stupid

  • @Dehaze1

I think the real reason they do it is so they can have things pre set, like automated fades and effects switches for all their songs, i don't think he's hitting foot pedals up there. And also... backing tracks. not like flagrant lip syncing, but like little swells before choruses and stuff

  • therese some strange rhytym :O

  • whats that weird anoying sound thing that keeps coming up at that the end especially !

  • I was there ><

  • sounds strange

  • How do these get on the internet O_q

  • A girl got pregant just by hearing this :D

  • @Roypuma12 so it was foretold, he will be called emanuel.

  • @Roypuma12 what a fertile recording ;)

  • I love all the IEM mixes from this performance (they are from Chris) :)

  • @Esparoba1 i was full sure that they were doms.. oh well .. my bad!

  • @drummerdude1411 I think Chris because the Bass is loud and so are Chris his backing vocals 1:39 and the guitar isn't and or Matt his vocals.

    Cheers

    Rob

  • @Esparoba1 im pretty sure that its Doms cause in theory the drummer likes to hear the bassist etc.

and i can hear all chris and dom.. so im pretty sure its dominic ! :)

  • @drummerdude1411 nah youre wrong... its chris

  • @drummerdude1411 fair enough, but why would would he have chris's vocals up so loud?

  • @drummerdude1411 Or chris :) chris would want to be able to hear the drums so he can play in time, and also so he would want to hear his own voice. The bass is also pretty loud, so I think it's Chris.

  • @Esparoba1 I agree there.

  • @chris2222 quote of MuseLive These are recordings which are most likely from in-ear monitors used by the band. As the band use In-Ear Monitors connected to (what I'm guessing are) radio transmitters (wirelessly receiving data from the monitor mixing desk) the channels used can be picked up with the right equipment and recorded. You'll hear alot of Chris' bass and backing vocals in Uprising to RBS. The rest have more of Matt. sounds like Chris IEM to me

  • @Esparoba1 Are you sure it's not Dom's?

There's a metronome playing which kind of suggests that it's so Dom can keep in time because I think they have to follow the guitar for MOTP.

My band and I do a cover of MOTP and we need the drummer to play at exactly 125 bpm so he can keep in time with the effect.

    Regardless this is awesome :D
