@DarthRevanFTW That's one of the billion or so reasons I hate the Vong. I don't even consider their part of the EU to be canon. Star Wars is a space epic, not a horror movie.
Its funny, to see KOTOR I and II work so well together yet be completely different at the same time. KOTOR I chooses in KOTOR II are mild at best and only three important suggestions at the beginning make this a great soon to be trilogy with an ever expanding story arc. BioWare is an will always be the forefront of post-modern game story developers that rival classical gaming of early age gaming.
this song builds up a great atmosphere on dantooine, you actually can feel the results of kotor 1 and the war. a torn and destroyed world suffering from the war and you're on it. Wow, i love this game.
This song pretty much shows how fucked up is Dantooine after being bombarded by Malak during the "Jedi Civil War"
Bandits everywhere oppresing the defendless farmers, the jedi are gone forever and everyone is scared of them because they wrongly think they are the same as the shit.
yep, i would have to play them for PC (i had a chance to buy kotor ii but got planet hulk instead.. it was okay but could have been better so i regret not getting kotor)
I would add that KotOR 2's soundtrack is creepy compared to KotOR's. There is more "scary" songs and songs that have a bit tragic in them in KotOR 2. And yes, KotOR have more relaxing songs (Manaan Ahto City, Dantooine, Jedi Enclave, Tatooine Dune Sea, Taris Upper City), and more patriotic or war-like songs like the Sith Theme, Darth Malak's theme and the Republic Theme.
I like the edgy feeling. It's mysterious and sad. Just how I like it! It adds some depth in my opinion. I've heard a million trumpet fanfairs in my life. I need some more base clarinet, violin, and *sadder* trumpet.
Noticeably more darker than the theme from the first game and should be. The sith sacked the planet and killed the jedi. But thank god that yoda jedi master dude survived whatever his name was :P he was awesome
when i play light side its boring but a little funny and you convince your friends faster. when i play dark side im happy that i can use my anger on a game and laugh on death. (not kiding) HHAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAa
I wish Merhawk would get to fixing these videos... goddammit, it's so annoying to think "Oh, wow! This one is over FOUR MINUTES LONG!" and come to a music track that's only 55 SECONDS long, plus the 4 minutes of total silience.
Somewhere at random times in Dantooine. I used to think my neighbors were just being stupid, then I realized it was front the game. That same noise is in Battlefont 2.
Yeah I always wondered what the heck it was supposed to be. I figured it was like some giant bug or robot or something like that. Or maybe its just a guy with a chainsaw. XD
@jediking12 That clicking noise that appears in the those Star Wars games is actually a soundbite of the big frog that burps in Return of the Jedi, with Jabba's Palace in the background.
@Yatef Me too, but don't you think it's fitting? On the first game, Dantooine was a ripe world with pure greeny fields, healthy sunlight and a temple to attune oneself to the Force. On the second, it is all the ghosts of what it was in the past: the destruction of the jedi academy, the death of the jedi, the absence of a safe haven.
People who say KOTOR 2's music is grim is because it should be. You are going back to a planet which was destroyed by the sith. When you look at some of these worlds, you see the Jedi who were destroyed and you realize you are the only one left
Exactly. I prefer the darker, creepier KOTOR II music to the original KOTOR. However, you are right. KOTOR II is a much darker game than the original. You have to realize that Dantooine was destroyed.
Yeah because KOTOR II is a follow up on Revan's and Malak's destruction upon the Republic. You're going to find depression, destruction, and corruption across the Republic. Which is one of the reasons I like KOTOR II, it's just more interesting.
This music is darker because maybe all the jedi had been whiped from the planet by the events taking place in kotor 1? The music fits very well to the story, creating exactly those feelings burried inside you when visiting dantooine once again.
The kotor 1 had a more enjoyable story i think; at least everything wasn't all dark and dead.. In kotor 1 the planet was filled with jedi, peace and force. Ofc it was bound to be a more cheerful, relaxing soundtrack. But kotor 1 was better, overall.
Vrook is a total moron...he's mean, and I don't like him at all....It didn't take me that long either, but I agree with NaturalSelection2, the original Dantooine music was better...I liked the music out in the fields...peaceful...
YOu know what finding those Jedi were pointless I Thought if we find all 3 (Not including Korriban) we will fight Sion but they are mean and Strict so I LOLED When Kreia killed them serves them right
I really like the music in both games, but the problem with the music in KOTOR II is that it is always dark and gloomy regardless of whether it was appropriate. The Alto city and Dantooine tracks from the first one are very relaxing, and rightly so.
not me just go to cave, get some crystals, save/fight vrook, and defend/destroy the base there...:) but ther r some other things there u can do too, wich will take a long time
I just played this over and over again for about four hours straight, while browsing and doing other stuff in the background. :)

I preffered Dantooine's music in KOTOR I than in II. This one is good, though.
Erm, hey, Merhawk, why does the music always stop half way? Isn't there a way you can shorten it, a little?

I actually kinda liked Kavar though, he was the best of the Jedi you had to find...
But you are right, the music is pretty much always minor no matter what.
They also should have had more Carth in this game. I almost cried when the only Carth parts were the message and on Telos....
