  • what age group is this? wondering because i would like to know more info on it..im from new jersey and 15, would like to race

  • @atvmxracer54 In our club you have to be 15 to race the shifter karts. You can start at a much younger age for the slower classes. Shifter karts are not for beginers. Most of the guys in the shifter class are older. We have drivers from 18 up to a 62 year old.

  • Who is the fool who put the annoying electronic trash in the soundtrack? Nobody wants to hear that crap! All it does is make it impossible to enjoy this vid.

  • @RushBuzzing There is no sound track, thats just the annoying way 2 stroke motors sound fool. And it's not impossible to enjoy the vid just reach up and turn your sound down Einstein.

  • @m3fordcord I'm well aware of how 2 strokes sound, and it isn't all that I'm hearing. Anyone else?

  • @m3fordcord Motor sounds great... need to find a way to cut out the wind.

  • how fast can that go

  • Whats more expensive a $5000 ATV or one of these shifter karts

  • This is the best karting video on youtube.

  • is there a height requirement for this?

  • is 16 too old to start? i dont wanna look like a fool

  • @XxMCFOOLxX01 I started at 50 and I'm still having fun.

  • @m3fordcord I'm 26 and I'm crazy to start! Are you running a honda CR80 engine off a dirt bike?

  • @tradingpilot Yes but with a few mods. Shifter karts run a bit different porting and pipe. All you want is the high rpm horse power. Due to the weight of the kart is is best to run the up graded 3rd gear replacement that Honda sells. Last the jug has to be drilled and tapped for a pulse fuel pump.

  • @XxMCFOOLxX01 Its actually for adults.

  • @XxMCFOOLxX01 Go karting's for everyone XD

  • How does one get into a kart club? I am very serious about getting into.

  • how much is one of this karts?

  • @zapatero39 a couple to a few thousand dollars, generally speaking.

  • Kool video. Whats up with the front brakes ? We were not allowed to run them on our 80cc??

  • @teamlaguna A redundant braking system was required for running at Mid Ohio so our club made it legal in the 80 class.

  • @m3fordcord THX for the info. Nice track !

  • Nice start. Can 13 year olds race? I am trying for the 80cc, would that be best?

  • @zxzxc9 You need an entrey level class to start in. Yamaha or a 4 stroke class. Shifters have an age of 15 or 16.

  • Comment removed

  • I recognize that maneuver...

It's the Rocket Start from Mario Kart!

  • You need no licence

  • (guy that u passed amazingly @ the start) 'OMG what in the world was that!!!!'

  • how much is a average kart for starting karting like a 80cc

  • where did u get the chassis from?

  • 80cc shifter??? i haven't heard of that category

  • how do you drive one of these im new to kart racing

  • @beastpwnr I use the clutch to get it started. After you get it moving, just blip the throttle and upshift. Downshifting is easy just push the shifter with the power off and it shifts down. The hard part is driving with one hand most of the time.

  • wow lot of speed there,,

    good for you,,

    jud

  • where did you get the 80cc engine?

    Please let me know

    Judy

  • @ajuicea Ebay is a good place to get them.

  • @m3fordcord im thinking about getting into this. if i buy a kart should i just get it 1 piece at a time and build from a chassis up or is it cheaper just to buy it already built?

  • @tonymontana19892012 Lots of complete karts out there for sale now. I'd look for a nice used one to start with and if you like karting then go get the new stuff. You can buy a race ready kart cheap these days.

  • what chassie?

  • @comandersven Trackmagic

  • this looks like so much fun

  • you don't push your kart at the maximum ¬¬

  • how fast does your kart go? looks pretty fast!

  • Looks like its really fun! Is it super expensive to run one of these karts?

  • Looks like a blast. Is it uber expensive to do?

  • wow..that's looks like so much fun!

  • at 0:38 the guy with the striped helmet spins out lol!

  • is 80cc a good engine class to start?

  • Just throw some bananas, and it is mario kart.

  • or turtle shells...

  • i weigh 80 kilos. is that to heavy to be racing karts

  • not at all I weigh 165lb and have a 10lb lead bar on my kart to make weight

  • @megathor44 not even close. i weigh 155lb and when im screwing around in my neighborhood with my other kart i feel like i need more weight. haha

  • what happened @ the end. whimpie

  • The guy behind me thought he was Dale Earnhardt in carnate and punted me. But I got him back this year.

  • Brilliant start off! I was like, W-W-WHAT!!!

  • All my years of racing a turbo drag bike sure does help getting off the line first.

  • If im 17,What type of kart should i start off with and how much will it cost me(i live in California)

  • don't start with a shifter kart!

  • Gow much

  • how do i get in to doing that ,,,,it looks like a blast,,live in texas

  • hahahaha that was a great start off. I bet the guy you passed was like what the hell was that.

  • I drove a 125 on public streets on time but these things are fantastic fun...

I love racing on track with my streetcar so I gonna think about one of these. :)

Much cheaper and more fun haha.

  • Wat a move off the line Well dun :)

  • i might be getting into kart racin cuz i just broke my femur for the 3rd time. just got out of the hospital today. from racing motocross. so this would be better for me i think but arnt those expensive?

  • Not if you consider the three broken bones and the hospital! Kart racing will be cheap for you. Realy its not that bad of a price for the fun you have.

  • true and you won't need a competition-kart to have fun ..

Karting can be cheaper then previous years though , with several brands making 'beginner-karts'

Normally here in belkgium fe you can start of with karting for about 5000€ , certainly when you go second-hand.

When i look at my other hobby's like snowboarding, mountainbiking etc..they are evenly expensive...

    Wkr

  • I live in the US but what does that have to do with anything? Just asking

  • I live in the US but what does the part of world you live in matter? Just asking

  • don`t

  • You down`t hit the best time to get out of the curve! by german player

  • Nice! I'm new to karting, I'm 14 and what do uthink would be a good kart for me?

  • jr rotax max. thats what i race and im 15 but it also depends on what part of the world you live in

  • Well done! Very smooth driving and great passing!

  • it looks like you know that track very well do you race there?

  • gotta love old men in the 80cc class!

  • hey can sum tell me wut cc i shuld get cuz i want to race im 13 and very small 411

  • Just headout to the track and check it out. Someone will give you a hand in your deciding what to run. Just don't try a shifter right off.

  • That looks intense! And so fun!!

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!! Im so jealous!!!!! I want to race there!!!

  • that was sick driving

  • good race man, you wipped it by sleepy head at the gate!

  • lol number 33 was sleeping at the green

  • amazing! I'm soooooo jealous! This video alone is enough to convince me to get an 80cc in stead of a 125cc!

  • How about for a big guys like me 235 punds would you still recommend an 80cc

  • i race at circleville almost 5 times a year and went there for the goldcup in 2008

  • love the 2 car overtake at 0:40 nice

  • Hey get a birel or CRG. also move up to a 125 i have one my self.

    good racing though

  • Hey get an 80cc just as much fun almost as fast and a whole lot cheaper. Yes the racing is real good.

  • It is cheaper. But im saying if u want to get competive get a 125. I had raced an 80cc for 3 years and it is fun but if you want true power get a 125.

  • s-5 is cheapest. stock restricted 125. almost as fast as 80 and you can go 50 hours on a top end and still compete

  • no just a stock 125 because a S-5 needs a special restricter and special air box i know this because my little brother raced S-5 last year

  • me too drive 125cc

  • i drive a 125cc yamaha

  • I drive a BMW M3 but I race a 80cc shifter kart.

  • haha

not too much from your ass and the ground

    I like it.

  • wow 80cc this quick eh?? feels and sounds faster than 100 direct drives. wut kinda racing league is this??

  • only 80 cc and that fast. holy shit

  • im thinking about getting an intrepid 80cc... any good?

  • They can all run well. It's all about you getting the setup right.

  • well ive heard most are competitive but i mean there is such a price difference between this crg i looked at and the intrepid i was wondering if the intrepid could even keep up.

  • They are made in the same factory!!

  • They are made in the same factory and if u are buying second hand you have to look at the amount of races each kart has run

  • beautiful kart man

  • I may have the only completely polished Honda 80 stifter motor running any where. And it does look good.

  • yea im running a kt100 atm im at the millville track with the tony kart i love my kart but im going to the the crg with the 125 rotax cant wait

  • I had a CRG, I always thought its steering was too heavy. My trackmagic is a lot lighter.

  • That looks like fun!

  • Like the helmat came shot wasome!

  • what is the top speed?

  • 63 at this little track but the kart will do a 100mph at bigger tracks.

  • im wondering what place you get and do people call you the bumble bee? lol

  • Started 12th passed 6 then was booted from behind and passed so I ended in 7th. I guess I was the one who got stung that time.LOL

  • haha nice i love all your other videos

  • Thanks. They are a blast to make.

  • im going to be makeing a helmet cam of my gokart im going to be rideing around my neighbor hood on my birel with KT 100 pipe

  • Nice move on the green, and nice tight racing line! I'm guessing it was the driver in the blue driving suit who punted you?

  • No it was my buddy in the #7 that got me the #12 wasn't that close till Joe bumped me.

  • are the engines for these things from 2 stroke dirtbikes?

  • Yes, 2 stroke CR80 Honda dirt bikes with 6 speeds and almost 30 hp.

  • k thanks

  • Nice job, I race a Honda 125 stock shifter with a intrepid chassis, What type of engine is this, and where do you race?

  • CR80 Honda and a Trackmagic kart

  • I race in Ohio at Circleville raceway and at Mid Ohio.

  • omg 5/5

  • You are very good, I like kart racing to , very fun ! 5 Stars

  • Your pretty gd! Start was awesome 11/10!! lol. The kart sounds to be runnin perfect. nice to drive??

  • Thank you thank you, and boy was it a blast.

  • i want to get into this. is there any tracks in texas?

  • There are kart tracks every where but I bet you wouldn't to race there in the summer.LOL

Most of the NASCAR F1 and IRL guys started in karts Google Taxes kart tracks and see what you get.

  • ya we drag race motorcycles and play MX.. summer sucks especially in leathers but at least the races are at night. thanks

  • that start was perfect A+ on that. i was laughing so hard, you passes like 8 people right there.

  • I use to drag race. I ran a turbo bike back in the old days, so I got a lot of standing start practice.

  • sorry "sold it"

  • oo The start make fell back!!!!love my kart but unfortunately I sell it!!!waaaqa

  • Where could you get these? I live about two hours from Hilliard (where you said you lived in a comment), so wherever you know of I could probably go to. I was just wondering, since I have no clue.

  • We will be racing in Circleville, Ohio on Aug 23 that is a Saturday. If you want to see 80cc shifter kart racing, stop by. I also know of a kart that is for sale there, if you think you'd want to give it a try.

  • If I remember, I'll try to get there. I'm playing soccer and am in the band, so I have a busy schedule.

  • wow u were flying, ever heard of a race track called V.I.R. virginia international speedway

  • how much does one of these cost???...since im considering getting one.

    plz reply

  • $2000-$3000 used $6000-$8000 new. I know of a nice kart for sale now for $3000. Just a set of tires and it's race ready.

  • i bough one for 1000 used with a 250cc

  • hey were do u live and how did u find it?

  • I live in Hilliard Ohio near Columbus. Make a trip to your local track before you buy anything. Some tracks may not even have a shifter class.

  • i live in rancho cucamonga, a few streets up from CA speedway...how would i find out if they have a shifter class?

  • i live in san antonio tejas (texas)

this guy just came and asked us if we liked speed and showed us it

  • That's some cuwl chit. I drive a Beril with a Rotax 125fr Max

  • 62 at the local kart track, it's short. Close to 100 at mid-ohio.

  • r u an 80 senior? or jr.?

  • Well, we have but one 80 class and I'm 58 if that tells you anything. We still have a great time anyway.

  • what the cc to hp for that engine

  • 80-85cc with about 26-28 hp and six speeds. It's like a mini indy car

  • dang that awesome man

  • check out some of my local racing videos by typing: krl kart racing : into the search box :)

  • Ok, I'm not much of a go-kart guy but those are cool as crap. So it's just a dirt bike motor on a go kart chassis? Out of curiosity what kind of horsepower does your 80cc motor make?

  • my yz 85 with a pro circut pipe makes like 32-ish

  • The guy who builds it for you says 32ish

    We tell everyone 30

    The dyno says 28

I say what ever it is it's never enough!!!

  • if this is an 80 why are you using a 125 chassi? arnt front brakes ileagle in the 80s? they were when i raced

  • Our club our rules. Also if we run mid-ohio WKA we need redundant brake systems so we made it an option. I have a DTR trackmagic with front brakes added.

  • Hey nice kart i got a CRG 125cc. How fast is ur kart?

  • We run 80cc but on our home track we are almost as fast as the 125 shifters and as fast as 125 TAGs.

  • oh okay thanks were is your home track

  • Central Ohio near Columbus

  • on the 2nd pass you should of gone on the inside you would of got him do you run for trackmagic i run for CRG

  • your too good for that lot, move up to 250cc

  • what kind of computer do you have, i cant find any

  • i know of a track in my area and i am usally racing motorcross but i have a off road go cart thought i might be fun to do it on pavement

  • cool my brother has a 03 m3 red

  • sorry about asking alot of questions but where did you get the things i can't find them on the internet and i dont know what i am looking for

  • Go to your local kart track first or see if you can find a kart club in your area. Where do you live? Shifter class may not be a good place to start racing karts in.

  • what kind do you have, trying to get in to it
