John Ortberg is a great pastor. Not sure how a sermon about Jesus turned into a call for a society united through freedom from economics, religion and politics.

John's point, before the video cuts him off, is that nothing in this world truly satisfies (including idealistic ideas about human unity). Therefore, you have to look outside of this world. You have to look at God for the fulfillment of the need that drives us to consume and acquire.

@SuspectSteve For those that go to church and are "unified" by their faith in a higher being, what is that but human unity? Many proclaim God as a manifestation of Love; and if Christ did indeed set that example for the rest of us to follow (turning the other cheek, loving thy enemy, etc.) then the point thereby becomes that of not bickering over who is right and who is wrong, but making sure everyone can disagree without fear of being cast into poverty (passive war) or killed off (violent war).
