I want to point out another thing soldiers do that is probably even more important than fighting in wars. They "Stand to Post". Meaning they watch over us 24/7 during peace time, war time, any time....holidays etc....always vigilant. They are our 1st line of defense and always a consideration any enemy must take seriously.

Soldiers are volunteers, there is no conscription in the UK anymore, same goes for the US.

I want to point out another thing soldiers do that is probably even more important than fighting in wars. They "Stand to Post". Meaning they watch over us 24/7 during peace time, war time, any time....holidays etc....always vigilant. They are our 1st line of defense and always a consideration any enemy must take seriously.

Interesting. Your account says you reside or are from Germany. If you are old enough, you should know a thing or two about soldiers keeping watch. Of course, what they watched out for might also depend on which side of the Wall you lived in. Have you served in the military?

And yes, part of their duty is to be always vigilant...every day of the year. Now maybe you have suffered at the hands of your military, you might have been old enough to have lived through the Cold War. You may also have lived in East Germany at the time. Maybe even Berlin? Then I would understand where you are coming from.

I was a soldier once. I was young and a fool. I gave up my right to make moral descisions for myself to those same fat ass bureaucrats you mention in your video. But it's not true that soldiers don't decide who to fight. We all have the right to refuse an immoral order. The problem is we would rather just go kill, in the name of following orders, than face the consequences of that decision. I have no animosity to soliders. If anythig I pity the position that they and society put them in.
