If "drill baby drill" was the answer, Texas oil men would have done so years ago. Oil is not renewable - it's convenient. Eventually we have to stop bending over for what's convenient, quick and easy and instead think outside the box.

I fly over a coal burning electrical plant near my home occassionally and all you have to do is take one look at the emissions coming out of its smoke stacks to see that it is doing more harm than good. Visit one sometime for yourself.

There isn't enough oil supplies, other than the Green River and Pieance basin oil shales, of which there's more than 800 billion barrels of oil, more oil than in all the middle east countries combined. And this is far more readily avail than solar or wind or biofuels
