Hi, Thanks for the video. I suspect my Y Main Sustain board is gone as well. Can you tell me what was the problem with your tv before you made the repair?

@rakcochrane I had very fine vertical stripes of green and other colors on my plasma screen. Watch the beginning on my video. My older video on "Heat related problems with my plasm tv" also showed a similar picture. Maybe you can descrbe what your screen looks like and what your tv problem is.

@wtam69 Hi,  Thanks for your reply. My screen is totally black. Doesn't even prime. TV seems to power on with the welcomemusic, but that's it. I've seen other videos where people also have this problem and it's also the Ymain or Y buffer boards.

@TheChill789 I saw your video. If the y board was your only problem, the picture should not be dark like that. You might have other problems like the buffer boards. A bad y board can bring down the upper and lower buffer

boards. This can be frustrating as you don't know exactly which other board is the problem.

I changed the y main board like the video but now image is dark and when I turn on tv it has black spots that fade away as tv turns on

@TheChill789 The image shouldn't be dark. There might be something else wrong like your upper buffer board. If the picture is just slightly off with some artifacts, then you might need to adjust the voltage. Better to find someone who knows how to do that since the tv has high voltage and can give you a fatal shock.

thats a samsung 50 normally the mosfets go open and dammage the ysus driver normaly upper driver to left in video plugs into ysus board check as when replacing ysus they always say replace both driver board upper and lower check glue round chips if its brown they have had it if its yellow / white colour they tend to be ok,, no burn marks around the glue,

@promo7uk Thanks for the detail analysis. As you described, that's probably what's wrong with these televisions. I'm glad my tv is still working one and half year after replacing the Y board.

I have the exact same TV. My screen is completely black but i do have sound. Do you think switching out the Y sustain and Y buffers might fix the issue? Ps My capaciters look fine, but i didn't have the tools to properly check them.

@181AFearon Sounds like you at least have power so the other boards could be the problem. Unfortunately, all the other boards are fairly expensive and I cannot tell you to try swapping this or that. Although the Y board is most common failure, the X and Z and logic boards at the bottom can be the problem too.

I have this same Tv , I know it because I recognize the power supply board. I have no picture no sound and blown fuses in my power supply board but when I change them they get blown again because another component. my capacitors are good but is this problem can be fix changing my Y board?

@catrachomg I can only guess. Sounds more like a power supply problem since you have no pic and sound with blown fuses. If your power supply is no good, nothing else will work. Good luck.

@field16 I have 2 CRTs that are over 10 years old with no repairs. It's a shame they don't make quality products and don't stand behind their products. That's why I admire people on youtube who are knowledgeable and is willing to share their knowhow.
