It comes with age. A lot of bands mellow out over the years. They are no different than a lot of people. Myself, I still like the songs like this one, but I find myself liking the more mellow songs as well as time goes by. As your body and mind ages, sometimes you need a break from the insanity and you learn how to appreciate a song like "silence" and other such stuff.

Just this song probably could have some connection. They are however a crhistian rock band. Many of their songs can easily be linked to Christianity. Take their song "Pitiful" for example, that song is easily linked. I am not saying it's a bad thing. But they are religious. And this song could and probably have a deeper meaning than just "vampires"
