I was born, raised and lived my whole life in MUSCLE SHOALS, ALABAMA Go to Wikipedia and look up MUSCLE SHOALS MUSIC and you will be amazed...........even awed by the talent that came and still comes through this small northwest Alabama town
If anyone is looking for "Christ inspired" southern rock / metal - check out Rent Veil! More metal than this - but just 3 good ol' southern boys jammin' for The Lord!
What happened to the music of today? Though I bet these guys and plenty others from the era of classic rock and southern rock weren't regular Sunday church goers, they still held to the respect and honor of Christianity and God. Even today, you'll still find *most*, not all, country and southern rock artists hold true to it. Some even go as far as to come down on those who do mock, scorn or disrespect the faith as a whole. Good for you, Van Zants, all you boys! Your folks raised you right!
@YounaTuber,,,I couldn't have said it better. They didn't even wear their pants half way down to the knees. I've met several supervisors who won't hire anyone under 30. No respect and can't make it to work on time or even call in if running late.
This song is on the Swamp Box Set. Along with the original version of Freebird, and Junkie Man from that time period. Another good collection of rare recordings from their Shade Tree early days is the double CD set Collectybles.
it was actually recorded at Quinvy studio in 1970 in sheffield alabama, Quinvy is now Broadway sound, it was sold by quin ivy, the owner, skynyrd returned in 1971 to record an entire album at 3614 Jackson Highway at muscle shoals sound studio. this song is very rare. Any other skynyrd questions, just ask me.
@MNSRT8 Amen! People just don't get it anymore. Skynyrd praising God, Zakk Wylde letting the world know that he "Loves Jesus Christ" - but ppl just don't get it, God help 'em!
FUCKIN AWESOME Best band God ever put on this earth! Give us more of the early obscure stuff it is the best stuff to come out of hell house & muscle shoals.
Amen!
