  • 1:47 is why you should never generate bullets around the boss if you can get that close to it.

    You usually either A: shouldn't be able to get that close, or B: you can, but the bullets are created underneath the boss, preventing any sort of area of safety like that [so it doesn't matter].

  • I think this is better than touhou games. This has that shooter genre feel. I dont know how to explain it, but I just didnt find touhou games appealing and fun as much as donpachi. They just have this "too new" feel, and look too 3D. Backgrounds arent attracting.

    Not sure if you intended this, but your comment is really ironic because the latest Touhou game, Fairy Wars, is pretty much about making snowballs out of enemy bullets. :)

  • I think they mistranslated the title. It should be 'Dai fukka!' and not Daifukkatsu. The hidden messages are always the funniest.

  • @zigmus007 It is obviues that you don't. know Mushihimesama (or something like that) , it is like the final attack , just for all the fight , and not just the end.

    OH , and there is nothing that can destroy ammo , you can just dodge.

    Really painful.

  • Wow, so this is the Hibachi I've heard about. No offense, but I think that's really cheap that the bullet sprites twitch around like that. Like even though I can play danmaku shooters, those moving sprites would make it really frustrating.

  • They've been doing it for over a decade, and surprisingly, it doesn't distract in the slightest.

  • It actually makes the bullets a lot more noticeable when they are animated, and that's a good thing. So much so that games without animated bullets feel poorly-made in comparison, nowadays. Not to mention animated bullets give a nice visual effect for viewers.

  • If you say so...in my experience they do nothing but distract your vision. The few times in Touhou bullets are animated it often makes it difficult to focus on where they actually are while dodging everything else.

    Got donpachi, dodonpachi (saturn and jamma) and daioujou on the ps2, but my skills are not that good to reach the 2nd loop, although I play them alot. Maybe it's because I only play on very hard cause I like the mayhem!

  • And a lot more bullits. Last weekend I first played mushihime-sama on ultra very hard and then on normal-normal, it's just boring then! hehe.

    That's good, I always liked the fact I couldn't destroy Hibachi by just bombing him, it's an extra dimension in difficulty.

  • It's also a shame to use bombs at Hibachi.

    Every boss in the game is easy if you throw bombs at 'm. With the exception of Hibachi in Dodonpachi, wich gets the shield if you use a bomb or die.

    Though I would not go that far to say this player has no skills, even though he uses the safe-spot.

  • Well, if I remember correctly, every TLB in Cave's history uses shields, so DDP's Hibachi isn't unique in that regard.

  • There's a rumor going round that Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu is the final game in the Dodonpachi series.

    Even though Dodonpachi is cave's best game!

  • So Dodonpachi diafukkatsu did beat mushihimesama futari's final boss in 1.5 scary and yet I knew it would go Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu!

  • Yes, they have made to her already. Some attacks are faster, and safespots are removed.

  • imagine if there wouldnt be the safe spot while hes doing all of his attacks at the end.

  • I don't really need to imagine it because I've already seen a TLB fight from version 1.5, which removes all the safespots. As I expected about 80% of the time player had a hyper going, or had an invincibility effect going either from a hyper, a bomb, or a death. Not much fun to watch (and I'm more than sure it isn't fun to play like that either), although potentially "truer" to the genre in general, compared to safespot abuse.

  • May be you, but may be the fact that this is most definitely not the first credit of the player (you don't reach Hibachi with only 6-something billions at this level of play), and thus, the speed of Hibachi's attacks may have been influenced by the reduction in rank. Though if you look at the first safespot attack, it's really really fast.

    They should remove safespots, and make some attacks not cancellable by hyper.

    It was pretty good concept. First move is okay, third needs some fixing ( remove the safespot, little faster bullets ). Fourth is okay, through it would need some more speed. Then final, remove the safespot, and then we have good Hibachi.

    Also, I just realized if Hibachi would have gender, it would be female. ( Only female bees have stinger. )

  • If you watch the original video closely, you'll see that Hibachi's small form is another transforming girl similar to the rest of the bosses. :D

    As for the safespots and such... I guess hyper bullet cancellation should be the prerogative of the power style, with the bomber style used mainly for survival. This would be the single most effective improvement to restore balance. And, of course, removing the safespots: if you don't want your attack dodged the normal way, change it, don't cheapen it.

  • In 1.5 Hibachi, some patterns have been sped up, and safespots have been removed. So I heard.

    Many are disappointed with you. You were supposed to be the almighty one...the be-all end-all of shmup bosses...yet you got annihilated.
