Gee you tie this fly and it screams to be fished and put in your box. It was a pretty thing just sitting there in my vise looking at me.. Sometimes a fly just looks great. the blend is cool - I broke out the blender ans stirred up a bunch. This could become a classic - it is nothing like a pheasant tail other than they are both dark brown type mayflies - love the little hint of sparkle etc..

Have you added a single strip of flashabou over the shellback and a touch of epoxy - Barr nymph style? Seems like a logical progression. I like all of your videos - I live out west and fish out west. Thanks great stuff..
Hater, the dubbing is totally different and a personal blend, the back isn't scud back it's thin skin, all good mayfly nymphs look like a pheasant tail. Take your hating elsewhere.
same fly....

It's just a GRHE substituting the pheasant tail shell back with a scud back material. Good looking fly, but nothing new.

ryguyfi,
Find the part of the video where I said that the fly is something new?

just don't understand how it's the "fly of the month" Probably one of the most common flies in the world. All-be-it, nice looking tie.

Well except for the fact that:
It does not have biots for the tail.
The abdomen is dubbed not wire.
The thorax is dubbed not peacock.
There is no epoxy over the wingcase.
The legs are not biots.
There is no gold bead.
However, except for those things they are pretty much the same fly!
