"If someone gets hit by a car I'm not going to cut away. I want to see what happens when they get hit by the car." Great words of wisdom from Neil Marshall.
No Rob Zombie? Seems a little wyrd considering he played a big part in revitalizing horror in the 21st century. Any particular reason for the exclusion?
@brittney4595 Far from it. I've heard he has some projects in development. Considering his love of Groucho it may very well have been the "I don't want to belong to any club that would have someone like me as a member" point of view.
I really want to see this. I love documentary's about horror films and there makers and the fact that's about 21 century horror adds to my excitement. I love any good horror film no matter when it was made.
For those who know anything about suspense and horror films, to cut away just when the character is beheaded works better than seeing a block of horse meat cut into with fake blood spurting. As for such comments as "I like to see people tortured" and "I like to offend people," maybe such people should seek psychological treatment in the first case and be seriously personally offended in the second. Why gratuitously offend anyone? Because it's fun. Just because you are a thoughtless idiot?
@shanebriant as a horror fan I mostly agree with your statement on certain individuals who get far into the carnage on screen, however I don't believe most horror aficionados should be evaluated for something we love. However, the ones who watch wanton violence, emulate said violence & immerse in such flights of fantasy is nothing short of appalling, disturbing & disheartening. I miss the wit of Lovecraft, Poe and Hitchcock but still find joy in watching a classic David Cronenberg film, etc.
