This song is about Sophia, the greek word for Wisdom. As in the Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom). Solomon and the Gnostics portrayed Wisdom as a woman in their theosophy. Making wisdom a woman is a demotion of wisdom. It is done to illustrate to the average joe what the value of wisdom is/ought to be, while men consider women to be their greatest achievement, wisdom is portrayed as greatest woman. It says nothing of the "wisdom of women". Apparently such wisdom thinks this song is about them. Ego?

Actually, it's more of a spiritual song. "Sofia" is the Greek word for wisdom and is used in Proverbs 8 & 9 as Lady Wisdom. This is wisdom personified as a beautiful woman and contrasted with the seductive Lady Folly.

Ed hits on so many spiritual points in his songs and has come so close to Christianity but won't embrace it. Buddha won't do anything for him on his deathbed.
