  • botch? pause at :04 bret clearly blocked the kick. no one else sees this? CMON!!!!

  • @JohnConnor333 He got his palm in the way, big deal. You'd think someone as big and as trained in martial arts as Bill Goldberg would kick through a limp palm like a piece of paper. This is not a video game where you just press, 'R1: block,' and it's all good.

  • @IDIOTdella

He had post-concussion syndrome and should not have wrestled at all after the Goldberg incident. Symptoms for a normal person can last weeks or months, but someone with Bret Hart's history it can be indefinitely prolonged. Wrestling again put him at risk of Chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which could have been fatal. This hit was the third concussion in that very match; injuring an already concussed brain can cause lasting problems even death. Medical facts...

  • @rufus566 - I'm aware of all that, cheers tho. Apparently Bret suffered a concussion during this match, his post concussions occurred during his match with Terry Funk where it has been said he received two concussions. He also wrestled Nash to defend his title after all that. Not sure how Goldberg ended his career when he continued to wrestle afterward. tbc...

  • @rufus566 - Goldberg may have shortened his career, which, let's face it, is a bit of a stretch as well to be honest, because Bret was in somewhat the twilight of his career anyway, and his contract with WCW was due for review in 2000 as well. Bret's cycling accident wasn't caused by a stroke, the injuries he incurred caused the stroke, so to blame Goldberg for that as well is just ludicrous. Still, just so long as it detracts from Bret not wearing a safety helmet at the time I guess

  • @rufus566 - My take on this is that Bret was looking for a scapegoat to get out of honouring the rest of his contract with WCW because he hated it there. He had no power at WCW. He'd burnt his bridges with Hogan and Flair before going to WCW and to have blamed the post concussions on Terry Funk who's well respected and considered a legend just wouldn;t've have been as readily accepted as it was when he blamed Goldberg.

  • @rufus566 - Goldberg's kick was not the first head injury Bret had suffered in his career and apparently it wasn't his last either.

  • @IDIOTdella Are you fucking stupid? He didn't know at the time that he would have to retire, it was wrestling those matches and getting those concussions (as a result of the goldberg kick) that he realised he would have to retire. Learn your facts you fucking idiot.

  • @OwenStillLives - I know the facts, I posted them in my posts. I don't dispute Goldberg giving Bret a concussion during this match, however, how this kick alone can be considered a career ending kick is stupid, simply because Bret went on to wrestle other matches, including a HARDCORE match with Terry Funk. A "Career Ending injury" is one which occurs where, in this instance, the recipient never wrestles again - Bret did wrestle again. Do you understand?

  • @IDIOTdella - Droz had a career ending injury and yet he doesn't blame D'Lo at all for the accident and hte guy is paralyzed. Also, Bret accusing Goldberg of his future stroke is disgusting and downright ludicrous - and for the reasons I stated previously.

  • @IDIOTdella Just because he didn't KNOW at the time that it would end his career, it doesn't stop it from being a career ending injury. It WAS the injuruy that ended his career.

  • @OwenStillLives - What stops it from being a career ending injury is the fact that Bret went on to wrestle other matches before he decided "Well, even though I was in a HARDCORE match with Terry Funk and received two concussions from him, it was actually Goldberg's kick that ended my career". It's bullshit.

  • I HOPE FUCKBERG FUCKING DIES FOR THIS

  • @FabulousZero fuck u it was bret's fault for not blocking it

  • @FabulousZero It's only rassling. Shit happens.

  • This is another work, this kick did not cause the injury. Heart did the figure four around the ring post and slammed his own head on the concrete floor. That caused the injury

  • @Kane6676 Sorry, but that can't be right. Where did you hear that?

  • What was this taken from?

  • Bret won the US Title in 2010 with help from the Hart Dynasty. He can only use the sharpshooter to finish off the opponents, Hart is very careful in the matches he competes in.

  • @dalewormheart3704 go fuck yourself you fudgepacker faggot i hope you get aids and the flesh eating disease at the same time, you are a fucking loser.

  • goldberg had such a history of botching

  • goldberg had such a history of botching

  • goldberg had such a history of botching

  • is bret hart in a wheelchair ?

  • The Sports Entertainment industry is quite possibly the only place where a young individual with no high school diploma can earn a generous salary accompanied by the best medical, dental, lucrative pension plan, and basically make a decent living for themselves, though very few have made claims to actually working a good 20-25 years and retire healthy. It's more than just a show; men put their lives at risk for our enjoyment. We should definitely have respect for them for all they endure.

  • @TequilaAssassin4eva i thought WWE doesn't insure there wrestlers because it would cost too much money. it's only the really famous big names that make really good money.also from the way i hear it even some of the big names don't always get really good money and end up with a f'ed up life because they are hooked on pain killers bc they have to wrestle every week.

  • @OkUrRight well, as far as I know the undercard guys who don't fit into the storylines...they are the ones who have to fend for themselves and get jerked around alot. I believe once they achieve mid-card status and start receiving title shots...that's when they become insured under Vince's comprehensive insurance plan. After all he's gotta keep his best guys at peak condition always, but after many years their bodies start breaking down so like you said their lives get all messed up

  • And WTF am I talking about Benoit in a Bret hart video.

He had/has the best sharpshooter ever.

  • Honky Tonk Man was telling a story about how Bret Hart didn't like working with him because he didn't hit hard enough. Honky asked Bret "who would you rather work with, me, or Goldberg, who hit you so hard it ended your career?"

  • @ReinEngel2

Honky Tonk man was a piece of shit for saying those things. Making fun of Bret for having a stroke and not being able to get it up....I hope that a piano falls on him.

  • 0:47 - and that's why Goldberg won't get inducted into the Hall of Fame.

  • i don't want to speak for @Carltonsp1 but i think its possible he just meant its "ironic"

  • a true legend

  • i bet hbk is sitting smiling abt the fact that it ended with a sweet chin musicccc

  • Sorry I dont think for a second that kick even landed he cushioned the blow with his hands, and as many chair shots he has taken to the head. please, Goldburg sucked, he even lost his balance after "hardly" hitting him, his head hit the mat harder. sorry that kick didnt cause anything but laughter.

  • Goldberg sucks.

  • two great guys, ahrt is the best wrestler ever!!!!!!

  • I have an autograph by Bret Hart :D

  • To be honest, it doesn't look like the kick hit him hard at all. His hand was up to block it, and it looked like Goldberg's foot landed in the form of a glancing blow, the way it's supposed to happen in a worked match.

  • @docdoom187 If it didn't hit him hard then Bret wouldn't have gotten his career ended. His career is over because of the kick Goldberg gave him because it was so stiff and hard. He got a concussion and stroke from it.

  • love that bret still blames goldberg for this.

as u can see bret ran intot he foot!

    goldberg didn't even move

the SELF proclaimed "best technical wrestler in the world" can't run into a foot properly..

bret hart was good but his attitude has always been shit and karma has came back on him both in wwf and in wcw

ur last "match" against vince is the perfect example of your career bret. a fucking joke

  • @theraVen27 Indeed. Goldberg did nothing wrong there; it was Bret that ran into his foot.

  • @qRaynep

but as always with Bret Hart..it's not his fault.

  • @theraVen27 But later on Goldberg speared Bret and that really laid his career to rest.

  • @MegaSlaze

yes give bret credit he is the one man that took the spear and didn't die

  • Bret Hart is Frank Grimes

  • - DOnt understand why Ah Kicked that Goldberg Trows at him, And Bret puts his hands to cover, made him retired :D

  • wow.. this guy below me really knows how to take a joke...!

That kick looks simple but never knew it had that big impact...

I mean the spear Bret took after that kick seemed a hell of a lot devastating than the kick!

    damn...

  • the fact that all these low lifes are cracking jokes on something so sad is sicking really i wouldnt wish this on anyone !!! saying shawn michaels move this and that shawn michaels took over goldbergs body that! you guys should try to appreciate your lives cuz these wrestlers give theirs for you faggets!

  • Shawn Michaels took over Goldbergs body that night. Chuck Norris was in attendance.

  • He didnt do it on purpose it was a accident shit happens move on

  • What benoit did what do you class it as then if not murder do you think that little boy and his wife wanted to die anyone who defends what he did mental illness from concussions or steroids or whatever happened he still murdered them.

  • Goldberg is an asshole!

  • Brett Hart is the best there was and the best there will every be

  • The bicycle accident when Bret landed on his head didn't help.

  • @maxpower789z shut up your just lucky goldberg isnt reading this monkey

  • Fuck Goldberg.

  • many wrestlers said goldberg was not safe to work with he he was not trained enough for wrestling

  • @joshuadiesel A lot of people put it down to his NFL background, he was too stiff in the ring. His spear is a full on tackle. There wasn't enough time between his football days and his training, he hadn't really been given time to slow down his pace because the trainers liked him and he was big with the kind of attitude that would help in the Monday Night Wars.

  • goldberg we comin 4 u nigga face 2 face with goldberg SPEAR!!!!!!!!! die broken ribs heart explodes

  • GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLDBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • never knew he had a stroke..damn..

  • what was his injury?

  • @swimmonster6496 He got a severe concussion. Though technically he had quit WCW like the week before or something like that I think because he hadn't been scheduled for any matches in the 6 months since he had been hired. That was his first and only match in WCW if I remember right.

  • Hey People, professional Wrestling is only a kind of hard Sport with roleplay Elements!!!and these trained ,,Professionals" do that at their own Risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this probably one of the reasons why Chris jericho called goldberg "Greenberg" lol! #Can't wrestle

  • I think it's hilarious that Bret got his knickers in a twist over being screwed out of a title that in reality means absolutely nothing. I think it's disgusting that Bret Hart lays full blame on Goldberg for his stroke when in fact it was Bret NOT wearing a safety helmet while out cycling and the head injuries he incurred in the accident which caused his stroke. Bret wanted out of WCW and he found the perfect scapegoat in Goldberg, because NO-ONE has had their career end by a concussion

  • @IDIOTdella

Once again you have no idea what you are talking about.... Your HATRED for Bret is palpable.... Get a life dude! Bret has always been very forgiving of Goldberg for the accident... I have NEVER heard Bret say one cross word about Goldberg after his concussion. The fact is Goldberg was reckless.

  • goldberg did what shawn could never do

  • SHAWN MICHAELS HAS SUPER KICK BRET FOR LONG TIME AND HE NEVER GOT AN CONCUSSION.

  • bret is the best he will forever be the best thank u bret for saving my lifee

  • How many times did he botch a move just to give other wrestlers a little time out...thus taking the heat from them they had build up.

I would almost say he deserved it,and btw....its still bret craps fault, since he had his arms way too low to take the kick...his fault.

Of course goldberg was someone who delivered is moves with some force...but wtf..its a contact sport.

  • The Best There Is, The Best There Was, And The Best There Ever Will Be!!

  • bret did kicked squre in the head but if you watch it again he did put his arm up to guide the kick to the face if bret didnt do that it would have bin his nose that got broke

  • @Carlitonsp1 If you find it funny that someone else got injured and his professional career over, well sorry to tell you, but you are an ass clown....

  • @MrPavelSan I don't think funny is the word he's looking for. Maybe ironic?

  • @MrPavelSan bret asked vince for a multi million pound pay cheque when he knew wwf couldnt sell 1000 tickets, knowing forewell what he was doing to vince and his career. karmas a bitch, he shouldnt have been so greedy.

  • @MrPavelSan the only thing these guys are pro at is acting.

  • @Carlitonsp1 lmao

  • @Carlitonsp1 If it not HBK it only a normal super kick.

  • @Carlitonsp1 missed his chin

  • @Carlitonsp1 I find it funny the move had a bad camera angle. Allowing you to see how fake it was.

  • @Carlitonsp1 At least Shawn Michaels know how to do the move safety. Goldberg doesn't even know how to safely have a match. Goldberg didn't even ease up on the kick, just a stiff side kick.

Goldberg always did a match with brute force and never cared about the other guys well being in the ring. He's just a flash in the pan. The only reason why he's remembered, because he was like one of the few wrestler given a push, and a chance to do something in WcW.

  • @Carlitonsp1 More like Sweet Temple Music

  • @Carlitonsp1 lol

  • @Carlitonsp1 The fact that you have 27 thumbs up for this comment makes me really fucking sick.

  • @Carlitonsp1 close to a sweet chin music, even though is normally call super kick.

  • @Carlitonsp1 fuck your mother

  • @Carlitonsp1 No

  • @Carlitonsp1 fuck your father

  • Goldberg is a piece of trash who had no business ever wrestling he was horrible in the ring anyone who has been in the ring with that chump will testify to that! It's a shame that's how one of the greatest of all time went out to a chump like Goldberg.

  • @juiceonroids real chump /nobody is you, why do you even care dumbass,?

  • sweet chin music? wtf?

  • does ppls still believe thats Bret out of the business bcoz of this bulshit vince throw him away he doesn't want him in his company thats all

  • @illuminatiCannibal & Kurt Angle

  • @illuminatiCannibal hbk and kurt angle are also good

  • @illuminatiCannibal so you eat Illuminati people?? lol and let's not forget Bryan Danielson and Dean Malenko

  • @illuminatiCannibal maybe benoit was murdered himself man there were fucking 24 or so bear cans, all opened recently found where he his wife and son got killed and no trace of alcohol was found in the deceased bodies.strange!!!! i personaly beleave benoit was murdered.

  • @illuminatiCannibal Stop calling Benoit a murderer you ppl don't know shit

  • @brunthroath6912 Benoit is a murderer.

  • @AnimalLover1977 he had brain damage from head injuries that caused him to be unstable. a horrible tragedy but not a pre meditayed act of violence

  • @liveandletrock864 he still killed his family.

  • @LosAngeles822 he should have been receiving treatment. he had the brain function of an alsheimers patient when the autopsy was done. cant realyb blame him. it should be placed on the wwe for allowing him to become injured to the point that he was

  • @liveandletrock864 I used to think like that, but then I grew up. He killed his family. Period. It's fucking sad but so unfortunately true. All you're doing is making excuses for a murderer.

  • @LosAngeles822 if by grow up you mean stoped using logic then yes you certain,ly did. hs brain was severly damaged and his actions were out of control. it got that way do to tremendous preasure from his employers to continue on and a lack action to help prevent such a tragedy. you seem like the type of idiot who still believes in religion or something

  • @liveandletrock864 No I don't believe in religion. Just God, thank you. Once again making excuses for a murderer. And not good one's at that. And if you think the WWE pressured him to compete your a fucking moron. WWE would always give Benoit time off.

If Benoit was competing, it was because he loved to wrestle. You ignorant fool. Benoit's legacy is dead. In & out of the ring. He's dead, just like this issue.

  • @LosAngeles822 they say that but if he asked them for time off would they have kept his push? no. it was well known in that lockerroom that if you couldnt wrestle to full strength at all times unless you were an iconic star, which in vince's mind he wasnt, then you could get put back to the bottom of the ladder. he needed wrestling because that was his career and he would take a step back if he took time off which is an atmosphere created by the wwe and it is not an acceptable one. benoit kept

  • @LosAngeles822 they say that but if he asked them for time off would they have kept his push? no. it was well known in that lockerroom that if you couldnt wrestle to full strength at all times unless you were an iconic star, which in vince's mind he wasnt, then you could get put back to the bottom of the ladder. he needed wrestling because that was his career and he would take a step back if he took time off which is an atmosphere created by the wwe and it is not an acceptable one. benoit kept

  • @illuminatiCannibal Killuminati ! And chris benoit is the man fuck you

  • @illuminatiCannibal theres a joke in there somewhere

  • @illuminatiCannibal Kurt Angle is better...he is gold medal Olympic Wrestling. When it comes to technical moves no-one can beat him. those two are not far tho.

  • @illuminatiCannibal Benoit does not deserve any respect. He lost that respect when he murdered his wife and son. Fucking moron.

  • Too many WWE kiddies love Goldberg for some really stupid fucking reason. He has always sucked. I hate him. I hate you.

  • Goldberg rules!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Look how hard his head bounces on the ring. Back of the head + ring mat = concussion

  • did bret having a stroke have to do with goldberg kicking him in the head? or did he just randomly have one?

  • @brandonskanes96 Partly. Hart suffered a concussion from the kick, then post-concussion syndrome which was a large contributing factor to the stroke.

  • Didnt look like he hit him hard

  • @nastymonsters2 it was the way he ran into his foot and goldberg did put some power in there

  • the top of goldberg shoes (the fingers) still hits brethearts head..

  • Typical Goldbotch. I surprised he's not fucked up any other wrestlers careers physically,we know the wrestlers who jobbed to him in wcw barr hogan were screwed pretty much

  • @86Stooy well this shit happens injurys occur. shows u it aint fake im not defending bill but these things just happen it was a mistake he didnt do on purpose im sure

  • i hate this goldberd nut!

  • yea that wanker goldberg apparently got paid to do this is what i have heard many times, apparently bret had told him to go easy on him and berg never.

  • just goes to prove that goldberg is such an untalented idiot, He has no passion for wrestling he just likes the pay checks.

  • Good way to retire

  • Whenever someone good leaves, it's usually Goldberg who does it. The Rock and Bret.

  • @FluffMaster101 thought when Triple H and Goldberg crossed paths Triple H was a heel but did not take Goldbergs shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @SovereignStatesman not sure why you removed your comment, but where you said "If he landed on his head outside the apron, then that could hurt him much worse." there's no 'could' have about it, that's what gave him the concussion. watch the match, it's on YT here in it's entirety, just search bret hart vs. goldberg starcade 1999 you'll see.

  • @maxdecphoenix I've argued with this idiot before, you're wasting your time, and I say that with all due respect for you...Sovereign Statesman is a dead horse if ya know what I mean...one of those people that can make you lose faith in humanity if you listen to them talk too long. Quit while you're ahead lol

  • @DUBtheTIGER we weren't arguing. he had agreed with a previous post i made where i state what probably gave hart the concussion was when he landed on his head trying to do a fig-4 off the post/apron. i was able to quote his comment from my email as i have comment notifications on. i just thought it was odd to remove a comment, something generally reserved for people losing an argument, not agreeing. thanks for the support though!

  • @maxdecphoenix lol wrd I hear ya... I just saw that he said Bret was essentially faking the injury, and if you agree with that I'm sorry but there is no way that's the case

  • @DUBtheTIGER nah i don't think bret was faking it, i just don't think goldberg had anything to do with it.

  • so you knew you were hurt "real bad," and you didn't get a "good nights sleep for a long time," why is that bret? might it have had something to do with your match the NEXT FUCKING NIGHT? the one 3 weeks later? the one 4 days after that one? or all 3? funny how you left out fucking up that fig.4 on the post where you obviously gave yourself a much harder hit that anything goldberg ever gave you. this clown blaming goldberg for his own mistakes is beyond unprofessional. down right sick

  • bret's own shitty performing skill,"self-diagnosis" and pride ended his career.. not goldberg.

  • @maxdecphoenix funny that I was just about to ask what you meant and I saw this comment lol. I hear ya tho, esp the figure four...I will say this tho, Goldberg IS famous for hurting people and not really knowing how to protect his opponents body (which is why his moves always looked painful-they were) to an extent that goes well past "working stiff"...the guy hurt people. But I do think Bret has too much pride to just look in the mirror...like how it took him years to get over Montreal...

  • @maxdecphoenix its like, realllllly Bret? You're from this proud wrestling family and you think you're the best of all time, yet you failed to understand the tradition of losing your last match for a promotion? You really thought WWE would give you to WCW as their champion? I respect Bret as a performer but I'm starting to like him less as a man. But for the record, I really dislike Goldberg

  • @DUBtheTIGER I understand both sides though. Vince was worried Bret was going to show up in WCW with the WWF belt. Bret claimed, or I think it was planned for him to show up on RAW the next night and return the belt, but I guess Vince had a hard time trusting Bret which I don't blame him. Half the guys he made stars bit him in the ass and went to WCW lol.

  • @TheYoungTopGun It's not even so much about him showing up on WCW TV with the belt. Think about it.... if he beat Shawn, handed him the belt and went to WCW, it would be like saying "Yea, our "champ" got his ass whooped by a guy who went right to WCW, so there's no reason to watch and invest in our show"...Vince would be CRAZY to let that fly. That's why you traditionally ALWAYS job your last match in a promotion, especially when joining a rival promotion. Honestly, Bret should have known better

  • @DUBtheTIGER I thought brett offered to job the very next night in ottowa

  • @Carnius797 No not unless WWE put out a phony story (which isn't impossible), but his reason was that he didn't want to lose in Canada so idk. To my knowledge, Bret was going to come out and give some speech putting Shawn over, tell him he deserves the belt, then leave.

If you're right, that would change my slant on the situation. Honestly I was taken back that Bret would expect to win his last match in the promotion, especially a main-event. He's smarter than that. Ego gets to the best tho.

  • @DUBtheTIGER Same here. The first time I heard of bret supposedly offering to lose the next night on raw was the other day when I commented to you. For a while I thought the same as you. The more I think of it though I dunno. Ive seen a lot of shoot interviews and HBK was an egomaniac of course, but bret was pretty in love with himself too. Scott hall did a shoot and said you couldnt walk into a room in brets big ass house without a picture of him in his wrestling gear lol.

  • @Carnius797 Yea I know lmao! Scott Hall is one of my favorites, regardless of his demons. I haven't walked in his shoes but I've learned enough from from walking in mine, you'd think other people would too -__-

But I LOLd hard when I saw that shoot. Idk, maybe it's just one of those things where we'll never really know. Both men were so driven by their egos that it would have outshined their legacies if they weren't as good as they were....

  • @Carnius797 At least Bret did jobs... but he felt he was owed something for it. Like, WHY would Shawn want to return the favor and job for him at WM13??! The crowning moment of his career, and it would mean 0 if he did that. It's called passing the torch, not loaning. More importantly as a fan, there's NO WAY they could've topped WM12.

Shawn did a lot of inexcusable things, but with Bret, I'd probably have hated the guy too. But as a fan I love both. HBK was better as a D-bag anyway lmao!

  • @tmanturner Yeah but Chris Benoit was also a mentally unstable drug addict. Sure, Bret may have been kinda boring, but he was excellent in the ring. Benoit was ok in the ring and sure as hell wasn't boring, but he was a druggie in the end, and that caused him to kill himself AND his family.

  • stroke people??

  • dont you see such kicks often? i mean daniel bryan. he hits the opponent too

  • @MVPtr4sh But Daniel Bryan in some ways is this Generations Bret Hart with how good is in the ring... I pretty much can guarantee Bryan has never hurt anybody in the ring... He truly knows his way around the squared circle... I remember seeing him live alot 5 years ago in Ring of Honor and going up and talking to the wrestlers they ALL spoke so highly and Bryan Danielson oh sorry I mean Daniel Bryans ring ability...

  • For those not recognizing, you've clearly never taken a kick like that. That was a brutal kick and Bret's head hit the canvas flush as well. Bret also has stated in interviews that he took several bumps the week after that kick as well.

  • It looked like Bret put his hand in front of Goldberg's foot to take the blow instead of his head, so how did he get the concussion? Was it both Bret running at full speed combined with the force of Goldberg's kick, or was it a the wrong angle or something?

  • @imlaughing2death: i was thinking the same but you look very carefully pause at 0:01 and you will see goldberg kicks bret in the head.

  • Comment removed

  • @CopyRightHater2006 musta been a powerful kick too, you see goldberg stumble after the move and immediatly after the kick you see goldberg grimice, he might have hurt his leg with that kick

  • Comment removed

  • @aidsbrigade the "stumbling" was a sell. bret had been working his knee for like 10 minutes prior. Sometime in that 10~ mins, Bret fucked up a leglock on the apron/post (same move flairs old ass has done 1000 times to green jobbers with no problem for 30 years.) and landed on his head -where he really hurt himself-. but that was goldbergs fault too.. just ask bret.

  • @maxdecphoenix

Watching this over, I agree. That kick was NOTHING, there's no power behind it, and no real impact.

It's a RISING kick, and it catches Bret after it already reached the top.

Look at 0:10, it's a very weak and flimsy kick, and Brett is SELLING it.

If he landed on his head outside the apron, then that could hurt him much worse.

  • @SovereignStatesman U FAIL TO REALIZE THAT BRET ISNT FAKING THAT KICK TOOK HIM DOWN

  • @imlaughing2death If you've ever been kicked in the head, you'll know how bad it can go. I used to train kickboxing and trust me, even when parrying with the gloves, you can feel the burst coming from a hard kick. When someone with the strength of Goldberg kicks you in the head, you'll have to follow the motion of the kick or you'll be badly hurt.

  • @imlaughing2death prob cuz a kick from goldberg is like a punch from chuck norris :P
