hello luke, great videos, great skill, great teachings, subbed and i will have quite some searching to do on your channel. I suggest, if you haven't done so already, taking a look at fox knives kuku hanuman and parong kerambits, i think they are great pieces with great quality, besides, the kuku hanuman has a smaller blade than the steel tiger from cold steerl, making it more conceleable. I also took a look at the ontario EOD kerambit. Just wanted to hear your opinion. May honor be with you.
Don't own a K-Bar myself, but do have a SOG Seal Team with similar dimensions. It's a nice blade with wicked steel. I may get a K-Bar one day. I note for karambits you like the Cold Steel. Just from looking at pics I can see why you like it. But, if you could get away with carrying that, you cd carry a full combat blade, IMHO (Kbar-style, Fairbairn-Sykes style etc). So for karambit, I'd go a folder, prob the Emerson. cheers
@CNCTEMATIC It is VERY hard to conceal combat knives effectively.. I carry folding ones.. but then again, im not military on deployment am I?? lol
Personally dont like the Emerson Karambits, I've had two of his students also and they musn't have done much at all.. Folding Karambits are useless! The are structually very weak. Cold Steels aren't bad. For a commercial type they are alright but hand made ones from a master in Malaysia, Indonesia, they philipines cant be matched! ;-)
Great vid Luke. The karambit is a nasty beast and I've no doubt it would destroy 99% of attackers. The only problem I see with it, in a civilian setting, is legal - it would be very hard to convince a jury that you walked out the door with it having any intention other than to slash people ( as opposed to other knives that could just be a tool). But of course there are situations/places where a weapon is needed. A question: would you prefer a karambit for combat over eg a KBar?

@CNCTEMATIC To be honest with you.. that's a hard decision..
I love Babar Knives and own some myself along with of course Karambits..
Personally I just like to Karambit but a Combat Knife like the Kabar is what it is :-)

The Karambit seems to be gaining popularity in the west. However I would still prefer a straight edge.

what a straight edge

I would second that thought on Cold Steel making the best karambit.

I make a mean karambit but it's not posted on my site yet. I did one out of Damascus Steel.
