  • Prince was the real drummer of the Time not Jellybean Johnson. Jellybean played on only live dates.

  • Yo i dont know if im gonna dance ..........WELL GET THE FUCK OUT THE GROUP LOL ..if you arent gonna dance.you cant be in the Time...the drummer even has to dance

  • prince did write alot of their stuff.

  • Someone with the log name jpopg posted the entire video. I know some of you were looking for the whole thing. You have to type in The Time The Walk jpopg, in order for it to pull up.

  • Oh how I absolutely love these men!!! My favorite band of all time. Jesse was so CUTE!!!

  • Prince wrote all of the Time's songs. Look it up he even owns the name

  • Most of them not all of them eventually the record label requested the time wrote and performed some of their own music.

  • he started the time as a favor to morris.

  • All of the songs were written by Prince. He even owns the name of the band.

  • Don't buy into Prince'sbig ego, because 2 of The Time's most popular songs "Jungle Love" & "The Bird" were writen by Jesse Johnson.

  • jungle love is written by prince and morris.the bird its prince morris and jesse

  • Yep, they are original members of the time.

  • Prince wrote this in his sleep. The Time could only dream of writing anything close to this.

  • Did you know that "The Legendary" Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are two of the original members of The Time? Those cats have been writing and producing classics for over 25 years. They have been considered by many to be one of, if not, the greatest production team of contemporary music. Check their catalog. To say that they couldn't have come up with this on their own is utterly ridiculous. No disrespect. Just saying.

  • only Morris Day could make a move as simple as the walk look cool :)

  • I'm tellin' you......Morris Day an'em was some of the coolest cats around back then. could tell them dudes nothing.....lol

  • I saw them a few years ago...I think they still wear those same suits. THey were talking to me during the show cause not that many people were there. This was at Little Rock. They are so great!

  • Look like the same set as Prince's 1999 video

  • That was the coolest song, He does look like Prince in the video, lol

  • Jerome still holds the mirror, lol

  • "Hurry up!......Grace!"

  • Where's the rest of the video?

  • THE WALK!!!! DAM THIS SONG WAS JUST TOO DAM COOL - Ebony Magazine just did the 50 coolest black men ever - WHERE THE HELL WAS MORRIS DAY?

  • I know. Uncle P is cool, but Uncle Morris is waaaaay cooler.

  • Is he wearing make-up?

  • What a shitty clip - cut off and pixelating. Dont post this if you cant get better quality of this classic.

  • If you don't like it, then DON'T watch.

  • If you try to cop a dip, and you trip, slip, or fall.Walking is for the cool baby put on a camosaul

  • yep!

  • everybody walk it, BRRRROOOOOTTTHHHEEERRR!!!!!!

  • Enough blush on him don't cha think?!?!?! Morris is the man, but that makeup artist got a little too heavy handed on the makeup.

  • perhaps it was at least partially just for effect?

  • Maybe, but that was the look back then. When guys wore makeup. The 80's was a very androgynous time.

  • i know that. i lived it. u were the one questioning the amount of makeup!

  • Prince helped style Morris' hair lol

  • THIS IS THE SHIT!!!! I LOVE THE TIME!!!

  • OMG !! LOVE IT !! Memories !!!

  • ATTENTION E'REBODAYEE!!!!!!!

  • Yes sir...real music right here (lol)

  • I Love this song.

  • Baggies are baggy pants, like parachute pants. We may have been baggin, but we weren't sagging back then. Too many suspenders in play..

  • They're all so young and skinny!

  • "Now, me? I wear baggies... zip, snap & drop! Yaes! Ain't nothin' like a fresh pair o' baggies!"

What the hell are "baggies" anyway? And are Morris Day and Prince related? I keep reading different stories (uncle, cousin, foster brother, etc.).

  • The pants that the members of the group are wearing. They are usually slimmer in the waist and at the ankle. They became popular during the era of the zoot suit.

  • Damn he look just like his cousin Prince right here...

  • they arent bLood related they are foster brothers

  • My bad... Didn't kno that... That's crazy tho (that they still look-a-like)... I learned something...

  • yeah i can c why as they were both light skinned dudes who didnt really have strong black features

  • How many of you cats went out and brought some Stacy Adams and Baggys, I know I did.

  • true OG's right here...

  • Morris Day is fine so fine here!

  • The time rulz. morris is funny.

  • I meant, I forgot about the album version.

  • flakes1000, you sholl right. I forgot all about the extended version.

  • oh man this is so fresh. anyone got the full clip? i'd love to see the whole thing..

  • Morris iz one of da COOLIST and the video just turned off WTF !!!!

  • im 19 and i love morris day...i wear staceys and suits too! lol.

  • tcidolfan - extended version of this song does not exist.

  • the album version is 9.30 - quite extended if you ask me :-)

  • I loved wearing my baggies and and pointed-toed shoes.

  • I love this song! I would love to go back in time and jam out in the time's concert!

  • i thought this was a prince song. well' i stand corrected.

  • Does ANYBODY have an extended version of this song?? I just DIG those old school jams!!!

  • the JAM!!

    enough said!!!

  • One of the best live shows I witnessed featured Prince, The Time and Vanity 6 at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis Tennessee back in 82. I actually walked a hole in my Staceys! And Morris is right, "Ain't nothin like a fresh pair of baggys!"

  • WOOO! Now you talkin'!! That was the Triple Threat Tour!! I saw it twice when it came to Chicago! Once at the Ampitheater in 82 and then at the UIC Pavilion April of 83. I'd just curled my hair and had some some black baggies, and a pair of Stacey's. HOLLA!!

  • I am feeling you on that one butterp7!!! If they rocked the UIC Pavilion in Chicago like they did the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, and I know they did, you guys partied that night!!

  • TeeDub let me tell you. I'd seen Prince in 1980 on the Dirty Mind Tour at the Uptown Theater in Chicago and I've been hooked ever since. I will say when I saw the 83 show at the Pavilion I thought the Time was a little better that night!! One of THE best shows I ever paid money to see!!

  • u didn't have to say that word dude.

  • classic material! i remember seeing them perform on soul train in 1983.

  • I love olkuuuuu !!!

  • Yeah he's Prince's uncle.

  • the white dude with one hand in his pocket and one on the keyboard is cool as a muuuufuuka

  • Monte Moir

  • that is monte moir

  • Brought this album in the PX in Cubi Point, while stationed in the Philippines. I thought I was so cool too, until I tried to dress like them, and almost burned up.

  • idc what any1 says md and the time own@@@@

  • staight fiiiirrreeee

  • RocStar-

All of the videos during the 1999 tour were were filmed on the same sets all in one day.

  • Has anybody ever noticed this video looks like it was filmed around the same time and place as Prince's "Little Red Corvette". It seems plausible because if you ever seen Prince's early videos, it looks like they were usually filmed in the same place in succession.

  • They came out when I was in high school and they're still hella cool.

  • this dude made a brota like me have to straighten out my damn hair. This song is eternal in the realm of Pimpdom!!

  • 11-5-Garcia Vega is better when usin this beat but the original is dope as fuck too

  • No one can duplicate Morris Day and The Time.

  • This pure old school!!!

    I like this song.

  • The Time was the only Prince production that could compete with Prince HIMSELF. They had the funkiest musicians, the tightest sound and a front man named Morris Day - That's what TIME it was.

  • The Times' name was mysteriously 'dropped' from the bill during the 1999/Triple Threat tour in '83 on some nights. They scared the shit outta him! He created a monster! lol

  • a damn pretty boi!! love the music though

  • i see they were walking it out first!!!

  • There will never be anyone as close to cool as Morris and the Time. The baddest coolest cats in the business.

  • I agree with you on that. Everyone on Prince's label were the baddest cats in the business.

  • Man there ain't no cool R&B bands anymore, a bunch of phony macks, pimps and thugs who are just studio gangsters. The Time were the DAMN truth, It's time for the old skol heads to form bands and get rid of the no- talents

  • I am sure Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis crack up every time they see these cuts and witness their hairstyles back then.

  • Damn, about to walk a hole in my stacy adams! What time is it?

  • nudelic has the live version "The Time (Live @ WEA 1990 Part2)" at the 3:30 mark

  • groups today need to take notes

  • You got that right ExcaliburSPO. Bands today r&b and rap both suck.

  • Who me? I wear baggies! Zip Snap & Drop.

  • Ahhhhh! Dont take me back like that! This is the cut!

  • Where is the sound?

  • They way those two keyboard (piano) players stand to the side and play is cold can't get enough of it lol especially at 1:24-1:26

  • Sergio Valente jeans, Banded collar shirt, Leather, yes i said leather "Members Only" jacket and pair of Stacey Adams....GET SOME....AIN'T NOBODY BADDDD!

  • I forgot Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis wer original members of the Time before becoming big time producers

  • The days of dancing in one place are gone...and honey you know you can't dance with those tight jeans on..If you tried to cop a dip, you'd trip slip and fall..walkin's for the cool baby, put on a camisole

  • hey jesse johnson just has a cool way of playing the guitar...his hand movements are different than most.

  • Are there any full versions of this video. This song kicks ass

  • Classic!!!!!!

  • i luv morris day

  • Yeah that's right.

  • this is the begining for the hottest band of the 80's!!!!!!

  • one of the best songs ever...how cool is that where you can make a walk a dance?...oh lawd!!!!
