1997-1998 Season CBS was "Welcome Home" NBC was "I Love NBC" The WB was "Dubba Dubba WB" ABC was "TV is Good" (first with the yellow background.) FOX was "Just One Fox" and UPN was "We Are The Network Baby"
Apparently Ricky Bobby and his wife watched CBS Saturday Night back then...The choices for names for their two boys came down to Walker and Texas Ranger and Dr Quinn and Medicine Woman. They went with the former. At least they didn't consider Early and Edition.
"The Address is CBS 42...Welcome Home" WBMG-TV Birmingham/Tuscaloosa/Anniston/Gadsden, Alabama (now WIAT) the last namecall before switching to WIAT in 1998
I think this was the first(and probably the last) time that CBS had three black shows on it's fall lineup: Cosby, Family Matters and the Gregory Hines Show. The only other time was mid-season 77-78 with The Jeffersons, Good Times and Baby I'm Back.

CBS hardly promoed the Block Party that year and that's what lead to Family Matters & Step by Step cancellation.

It would be interesting to capture this promo again, since, probably now it's easier, and also, youtube has more resources. =]
