  • nice song, but... St. Olaf?! how come St. Olaf [died AD 1000] is listed as a Lutheran?

and the video could be a little less Americanocentrist, but i understand it's done in U.S., so OK. ;)

@13craj - it would be interesting for me to know why does your pastor has such attitude towards Polish Lutherans, because i'm also one of them. :)

  • The pastor showed us this video in confirmation last Sunday. I think it is really good!!!!!

  • If I catch someone saying 'Lutheran's are stupid,' I'll know Steve Jobs was on our side! :)

  • If I catch someone saying 'Lutheran's are stupid,' I'll know Steve Jobs was on our side! :)

  • great video :) i'm a brazilian lutheran.

  • I watched this in confirmation today. I think I was the only one who wasn't sleeping. Sad, isn't it? :)

  • WELS Lutheran here!

  • my parents grew up with martin Marty:)

  • Happy Reformation Day! :-)

  • Slide Girl Marriage Proposal.

PS RIP with Jesus Steve Jobs

  • I think I broke my replay button...is that even possible?O.O

  • Love these guys!

  • Jaroslav Pelikan converted to Orthodoxy late in life. This is particularly important, since he was a leading historian of both Lutheran and Orthodox traditions.

  • I am Michael Hoffmann, I umpire T-ball games here in STL, I am 14, I am an A student, I love sports, and I am a.... LUTHERAN! Go Jesus!

  • LCMS 4 life!

  • i worship lcms... my pastor hates me because im Polish, is that even fair?

  • Not fair at all! "They will know that we are Christians by our love."

  • @13craj Dont worry most people hate the Polish!

  • go WELS Lutherana!

  • God Wonderful Fullness,

Asian familes some, are going through alot they "sacraficing everything"

We need to give them a chance , we want to say Thanks.

The Love of God that enables to rescue them.

So we need your Love more then ever for more rescues.

  • They forgot the Governor of Arizona!

  • My spiritual journey took me through 60 different churches in 20 denominations. Now I am finally in a church "home" where I don't have to leave my brains at the door -- St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.

  • Actually, Luther was born and raised Catholic. It was only when he got older that he developed problems with the beliefs of the catholic church. He came to a different understanding of sin and grace after becoming a Catholic Monk.

  • Lutherans claiming Soren Kierkegaard is analogous to Roman Catholics claiming Martin Luther.

  • @NeoVictorianX

Yes he was, in fact it is more accurate to call him a Lutheran than many of the others on the list.

  • The $10,000 question: how many of these Lutherans are actual believers?

A poll a few years ago showed that, among Lutheran CLERGY, 13% doubt the resurrection of Jesus, 19% doubt the virgin birth, and a whopping 77% doubt the inerrancy of the Scripture. And that's clergy. Makes you think.

  • @KnightofMotley I don't want to be one defending Lutheran clergy, but the majority of them do go to real seminaries where the heresy of Biblicial inerrancy is not taught.

  • @NeoVictorianX

Heresy of of Biblical inerrancy? Are you kidding? Do you even know what inerrancy teaches?

  • @KnightofMotley this is in the ELCA which is NOT AN ORRTHODOX LUTHERAN CHURCH BODY

  • @zeb1912 I don't think the ELCA can even claim to be Christian anymore.

  • @hahnbd Whoa there! Was that very Christian of you to say, albeit on Youtube... er, "post"? I'm in the ELCA and a last I checked we're still 100% Christian. Also, being a Christian isn't about calling others out for what you think their wrong-doings are, it's about helping others without any expectation of reward or glory (and praising the Lord for all He has blessed us with at the same time; didn't mean to leave that part out). ELCA, LCMS, WELS: it makes no difference. Christian is Christian

  • @heretustay RIGHT ON!

  • As soon as I saw Johannes Kepler, I thought about Tycho Brahe. All the Scandinavian countries turned Lutheran, so I'd expect a Dane like Tycho to be a Lutheran as well. Ironically, Luther (and Calvin) denounced the heliocentric theories of Copernicus and Kepler. Joshua commanded the sun to stand still. Giving equal time, we all know about Galileo and the Pope in 1610!

  • @BuddyNovinski

    Mixing categories is dangerous.

  • Even if I am not Lutheran, I have a great respect to the Lutheran Church because I am baptized as a Lutheran.

  • Long live the Lutheran Christians. You are no better than anyone one else, so you have to work harder, smarter, and keep the faith. The Meaning of Life : "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your Might", "Love your neighbor as yourself, or how Jesus shown you Love to you with compasion, mercy, and forgiveness of sin. " for all else is vanity, vanity, and chasing of the wind. the world may change, but God doesn't (alpha and omega)

  • so proud to be Lutheran

  • Wish these guys would come back to Florida. I would love to see them again.

  • Buen video

    Good video

  • Is there anything cooler than being a fun lov'n Lutheran?

  • @Festizzle Nope!! lol

  • Oh wow, I haven't seen these guys play since I was a kid! Thanks for posting. Memories of Lutheridge coming to mind.....

  • guys ! do you know that there is 4 to 5 countries which are totally Lutheran dominant. They are Denmark ,Sweden ,Norway,Namibia and Estonia and Also there is sizable Lutheran Population in many countries.

So guys ! Are you Proud to be Lutheran ? 'cause I'm Proud.(I 'm from India)

  • @MrFaithdefender a lutheran in india. now that is awesome. lol im part of the frozen chosen too lol

  • @MrFaithdefender Dont forget the fatherland of Lutheranism GERMANY!

  • @nytmstr Ya ! Germany is fatherland of Lutheranism But never was dominated by only Lutherans. But Still it is a Great Country and I have Great Respect for this Nation. God Bless Germany !

  • @kankpany I do not think it is the Fatherland of Lutheranism, that is Sweden, and Sweden saved the German Lutherans in the 30-years war in the 17th century. And there is no more Lutheran church in Germany..or it is very little (SELK).

  • @karpov89

Not true, there is also the Evangelisch Lutherische Freikirche. Lutheranism is not dead in Germany, it's just small.

  • @karpov89 :

Ähm ... NO. I am German. About half of Germanys population is lutheran, and by the way.

Many German politicians, including merkel, are it as well.

  • @MrFaithdefender

You can add Finland to that list. In Finland, almost 80% are members of the Lutheran church which I think is a little higher than in Sweden. Anyway, great to find a Lutheran brother in India. :-)

  • @HaecceitasQuidditas Well I think the percentage is about the same..we also have have more free churches and catholics, orthodoxs are the same now I think with regards to the immigrants from Syria and Iraq.

  • proud to lutheran!!!!!! i m from india.

  • I read the John Denver was raised Presbyterian and converted to Lutheranism for awhile. As an adult he was more of a New Ager.

  • Love it! ("Isn't that special")!

  • Hilarious! I'm planning a midsummer retreat/reunion for 35+ year alumni of the Lutheran Student Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and we're gonna have to get this song! :)

  • Awesome--nice to give some love to the lutherans!

  • i saw these guys in concert

  • I never get tired of this upbeat vid! :D

  • Proud to be Lutheran!!! :)

  • Way to go guys, another hit.

Keep up the Lord's work you guys are doing.

  • Does anybody know One Body by Lost and Found and where I can find this song?

  • Great job!!!

  • PROUD TO BE LUTHERAN :)

  • Beware, many have been misled by false teachings or hijacked by prosperity teachers in the modern church. If you're left confused or dismayed by these flashy drive thru off track churches then you should look at Lutherans and communion. My faith has been drastically deepened & is much more robust since I became a Lutheran. In service we focus only on Jesus; in song, confession & communion. iI's all about Him, not about some rock star preacher telling you how to fix yourself.

  • R.I.P. Dietrich Bonhoeffer :-(

  • very informative video, but...jesus wasn't a lutheran

  • nice video. Im not a Lutheran but I have a great respect toward the Lutheran Church, I was baptized in a Lutheran Church.

  • excellent job. i am another Lutheran and darn happy to be. :-)

  • It would be more accurate to say "Acolyte Alb" since the "gown" is an Alb and an Alb is not a gown.

  • Isn't Steve Jobs buddhist ?

  • I love being Lutheran. Nothing is better than doing it by the book. The safe way to go :)

  • So all Lutherans are white?

  • No.

  • No, not all Lutherans are white. Dave Winfield, who is black, is listed on this video. There are about 100,000 blacks in the Lutheran church in the US and several million in Africa, especially Tanzania, Namibia, Ethiopia and the US Virgin Islands.

  • I never really notice many Pretzels at Potlucks, besides they sound too much like Ketzel.

  • They forgot George Clooney!

  • i am one of the 24 non catholics at my catholic school of 521. Everyone but me hated this... i favorited it.

  • @Hippiesin7B Good for you!!!!

  • i watched this in conformation class

  • Whoo Hoo!! Go Lutherans!!! :P

  • I saw these guys at the big Lutheran youth thing in Orlando Florida in 04 and when I was a kid, they came to KS, they're awesome.

  • lol, this is most ceartinly true!

  • A couple of quibbles: Kathleen Sebelius might have been raised Lutheran but she worshiped at a RCC congregation in downtown Topeka while governor of Kansas.

As for Marx. Well his father was a very devote Jew but when the family had to move they moved to a place where he could only work if he became a Christian. Marx's father only became one for practical reasons. Marx's hatred seems more directed at the hypocrisy that he experienced.

  • As noted above, the photos of the governors are known to be incorrect, since elections had happened between 2003 and the assembly of the video. Mea culpa!

  • hey what about REX RYAN? the jets coach!

  • Martin Luther wasn't born a Lutheran and that might be a shock. LOL

  • chords please or tabs!

  • Love these guys. SLINKY!

  • Just what I've been waiting for!

  • Too bad these people are not all LCMS members.

  • St Olaf? Wasn't he born 500 years before Luther?

  • Great song, really!

    I loved it

  • correction to my comment below: Keillor was raised Lutheran Brethren in fact, which would affirm his Lutheran roots.

  • what???? mark hansen is lutheran? when did this happen??? ha ha. yay elca :)

  • I don't know if I'd want to be advertising some of these characters are/were Lutheran, but what do I know, I'm LCMS!

  • wooohooo!!! I love being Lutheran! Saved by grace :D

  • I love this song! mostly because im lutheran because people dont give lutherans enough credit! so go lutheran song!

  • I think Garrison Keillor was raised in the Church of the Brethren but he may be Lutheran now.

  • I'm Lutheran.

  • Comment removed

  • Very, very nice! Lutherans forever!

  • I'M lutheran.

  • they forgot dr seuss

  • bossome!

  • i love lost and found

  • these guys sing so wierd, seen em live

  • There are probably a lot more American Lutherans than 13 million, those numbers are never accurate.

  • They sowed this video at my friend's graduation...awesome!

  • im lutheran wOOt wOOt

  • Religious identification survey says there are about 13 million Americans who self identify as Lutheran. but there are only 8 million who are members of Lutheran congregations.

  • WOOT WOOT GO LUTHERANS!!! LUTHERANS IN THE HIZ HOUSE! lol

  • What about PAUL TILLICH???

  • Sadly, a few of those mentioned are no longer Lutherans. Garrison Keiller is just one example.

  • Quite a few that I know of mentioned here are no longer Lutheran.

  • I can't get it to play.

  • Of course Martin Luther wasn't born Luthern. He first had to feed the Catholics a diet of worms.

  • OK that was just too funny

  • what a load of ballox hahahahaha wankers!

  • care to elaborate?

  • also a lutheran: karl marx

  • dumbass he was an aetheist just like every communist.

what are you catholic? guess who was catholic Adolf Hitler

  • Martin luther was catholic and made the luthern religon

  • He was born a Lutheran I believe but by the time he wrote the manifesto he was a definite atheist.

  • Karl Marx's family was Jewish. Life was very unkind to Jews in Germany, so they converted to Evangelical (Lutherans in Germany), but by doing so, they were, unfortunately, not thought highly by either group, or so Marx said, and he became an atheist. Marx' political beliefs were the result of his anger at and hatred of religion. I don't expect that anything good would come of such negative beginnings.

  • zippywebgenie, Marx was one of these religion hating fanatics you are talking about. Marx hated everything that had to do with the Judeo-Christian God and Bible believing Christians and jews in general. This was taken to the point that he actually worshipped satan. There are many works and substantiated quotes from Marx which illustrate this. I suggest you read "Marx and Satan" by Richard Wurmbrand.

  • Richard Wurmbrand was himself a Bible believing ethnically jewish Christian who was tortured under a government based on Marx's satanic system.

  • i love this song

but they pronounce bonhoeffer's name wrong?

  • I think it was the correct pronunciation in German but maybe not in English

  • There is nothing special wrong with the catholic moral. Luther was actually a catholic in his whole live, his intention was not to start a new church called the lutheran church. And as lutherans we should everyday pray for the visible unity of the one, holy, universal and apostolic church.

Summer Sunshine1988: concratulions to your conversion to christianity and lutheranism!

  • congratulations

  • This is hilarious to an "old" Lutheran like myself. We Lutheran's like schmultzy endings sometimes!

  • Catchy! Could have done without the schmultzy ending though.

  • I am a recent convert, and I am proud to call myself a Lutheran! :-)

  • I'm not sure that Garrison Keillor was ever Lutheran. He grew up Plymouth Brethren and is now Episcopalian. He is famous for writing and joking about Lutherans.

  • In comparison to most Christian religions, Lutheranism is good. In its moral values.

Catholism being the worst of the worst.

  • How would you say the moral values of the Lutherans differ from the Catholics? They are quite similar. In fact Martin Luther began his life as a Catholic priest.

  • Yes but he disagreed with them about people having to pay to go to church and worshiping of Idols....

  • i don;t think hasselhoff is lutheran or ace frehley are lutherans but hey they could be

  • now isn't that special. hahha.

  • Dude when I saw them live and they sang this and I heard that the Hoff was a lutheran I was LIKE HECK TO THE YES!

  • haha same here.

  • Really cool! Good that you know about our great hero King Gustav II Adolf and Dag Hammarsköld (who indeed had a profound belief). I thought Bruce Willis was catholic?!

  • haha i just saw these guys and there hilarious

  • Yey Lutherans!

  • I had no idea so many of these recognizable people were Lutheran.

  • its pretty kewl cuz i met April larson

  • you spelled preus wrong. there is only one s.

  • Who would have thought that Lutherans could have converted a Jewish song into an updated set of lyrics. I got a great kick out of it.

  • Wow I'm proud to be Lutheran!!!!!

  • wow im proud to hate all religions!!!!!

  • that would make you an Atheist, which is kinda - a religion!

  • The bright spot is despite that hate, people of every denomination are still praying for you. That what makes God's grace a miracle.

  • I love the way atheists are so religious about their hatred of religion. They're quite the zealots, trying to spread their non-religion religion everywhere, not wanting anyone else to have their own religious beliefs.

  • When it says Woody from Cheers it means the character "Woody" who was a Missouri Synod Lutheran from Indiana. I don't know what religion Wood Harrelson is. Another famous Lutheran is David Soul, who was the blond guy in Starsky and Hutch. His real name is David Solberg.

  • Go Lutherans!

  • one of the most awesome songs in Lost and FOund's repertoire. gotta love these guys!

  • Obviously a big fan. We are part of quite a heritage.

  • haha go lutherans!! :p i'm a lutheran and it's kind of sad there aren't that many of us.

  • There are millions of you of you Across North America. ECLA and Missouri Synod denominations make up about 7 million altogether.

  • Love this song. Yes I heard it at the gathering a while back

  • Lutheranism is even more common in Northern Europe and Scandinavia. Blessings!

  • Haha, I have never heard this song before. These guys came to my church a couple times too. A Lutheran church, go figure.

  • I tried to post a comment and share the Lord's Prayer with You but it didn't work. Sorry. I'm a Lutheran. Love to you All.

  • God be with us and bless us all. Jesus Christ hear our prayers. Save our souls and those of us who fight for our freedom. Our Father Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory Forever and

    Ever, AMEN!

  • This isn't really a comment on this video however.

  • @OlySvenson No, it isn't, but isn't it the desire of ALL Christians? It is the prayer that Jesus Himself taught us to pray, Seeking God's blessings, and giving our Souls to Him is what He desires. It may not be a critique of the video, but I am pleased and blessed to see it stated. As for the video, I enjoyed it. However, I am proud to call ANY Christian "Brother"...not only my fellow Lutherans. God Bless!

  • SILENCE bleib mir weg damit

  • Love it! Sounds a lot like "The Hanukkah Song" by Adam Sandler.

  • dont forget the 48 or 50 first presidentes of USA were lutherans.

  • love this song. They played at The Gathering. Did anybody else go?

  • Hahaha they played at my school yesterday and it was amazing.

But this song cracks me up =P

  • Awesome!
