Forget Radiohead - EMI had to build a cd - manufacturing plant - just to make enough cds of this album - it was that popular. Just to give you an idea - it was in the U.S. 200 billboard album charts for over 28 years, 1 in every 14 american citizen under 50 years of age owns a copy - source wikipedia. (. People simply have no idea just how groundbreaking and revolutionary this album was for its time. To name a few, an album that is more of one continuous song, powerful female R&B vocals in a rock song, incredible saxophone solos, an entire electronica track.

We all take these kinds of things for granted in popular music nowadays, but almost 40 years ago they did it all first and in one album. An epic masterpiece.

However, the actual music of the 2 bands are miles apart. They both have very different feels to their music. They both have depressing vibes, but muse is more fast paced, running away from an atomic bomb that just hit your town depressing, and radiohead is slower, walking through a disease ridden town with random bodies dotting the dirt roads.

However showbiz is like 0% percent sounding like radiohead to me, and the rest of their work is like -10% percent sounding like radiohead. Especially their 2 newest albums. coldplay is a much more accurate ripoff of radiohead I'd say, because they have a very soft sound just like radiohead. They just take the avante garde stuff out.
