@1813verdi Wir schreiben das Jahr 1978 in Italien, kurz nach Wieland Wagners "neuem Theater" wo man auch nur ausdrucksvoll dastand. Das "Deutsche Regietheater" war noch nicht erfunden und so an der Rampe zu stehen, war damals gewünscht und erwartet. Also lassen wir das "acting" bitte außerhalb jeder Diskussion. Der Mann gehört zu den absoluten Genies seiner Zeit und es ist sehr zu bedauern, dass das breite Publikum ihn viel zu wenig kannte und schätze. Wo er sang, war der Erfolg groß! Wie er!

I never heard Nesterenko sound that good! His voice got much more velvet and warmth there, a lot more legato too. My favorite recording of him so far!
