Lets face it the US is not a direct democracy.If it was interracial marriage wouldnt have been leagalized in 1967,and a few states in the south would probably still have laws who banned interracial couples to get married.We wont stop til we`ve got equal rights federaly.Overturn prop 8 in 2010!

@oxoxMusicxisxlifexox it never was a direct democracy. it's a republic. america, even at the time of its constitutional ratification, was too large to have a direct democracy. if it was a direct democracy, there would not be any gay rights because that allows the majority to suppress minorities even more! it makes policymaking a thing that 300 million americans can do rather than 535 congress people. you dont want a direct democracy

HA! more like "yah right!" - our constitution was SUPPOSED to protect the rights of the disenfranchised and not uphold the status quo just because its was the majority wanted- change is always hard but the time for change is always NOW! We must join together and stand up for the rights of ALL people- not just black or latino or gay... but EVERYONE!

how is that the SAME???? it is not the SAME. i am in a interracial marriage and a couple of my friends said that to me and I just looked at them. Because I do not understand HOW one can say that a man and a woman who are from various cultures is the same as TWO people who both have the same plumbing?
