  • Scientifically, yes this is accurate. However, 99.9% of the time a 6-10 feet cable is as much as what's required. In that case a 3$ basic cable does the job of carrying 0s and 1s on that distance without any problem. Therefore, selling 6-10 feet cables with 4 layers of shielding with gas injection NASA powered technology is as relevant as selling a Ford Fiesta for driving in the western world with an anti-personal bomb shield making the argument that it offers superior rides. Pointless.

  • it's important to have a good quality cable because the 1s have sharper edges that 0s that can get caught on the edges of cheaper cables leading to what is technically known as "digital blockage".

  • We have seen cables pass "Standard Cable" HDMI compliance testing at lengths of up to a maximum of 10 meters without the use of a repeater. It is not only the cable that factors into how long a cable can successfully carry an HDMI signal, the receiver chip inside the TV or projector also plays a major factor. Receiver chips include a feature called "cable equalization" that are able to compensate for weaker signals thereby extending the potential length of any cable that is used with that device

  • monster cable used copper as their conductors as well, check the specs on their web site.

  • Why did they use copper instead of optical fiber for HDMI ?

I'll never understand these "uber" ingeniors :-/

  • @goeb1 You have an awesome point there, why it isn't a fiber optics cable as the audio outputs.
