    1. How much did it cost you to put the entire thing together?.. $5-600?

    2. How long before the ferrofluid evaporates

    Yes the parts are only a fraction of the purchase cost of this exhibit.

    The blue and red exhibit in this video has been improved in many ways. The ferrofluid no longer evaporates at all and the push button motors have been replaced with hand cranked lifts to position the magnets. I've found hand cranks to be more durable and more intuitive to control. See the improved version of this exhibit in my new video:
