LAWL SUPER OLD VID response... Anyway, no, I don't think I would enjoy this. Maybe one play through would be fun. Part of my problem with Metroid Prime 2 was that there was so much focus on "epic boss battles." Retro even said this during development. It just feels completely contrary to the soul of Metroid - hidden secrets, exploration, side quests. Those are what make Metroid what it is IMO.

A boss run like this is sometimes good then sometimes bad. However in most all games a boss run would be appreciated to anyone. An optional choice in any game to the person who likes it for the bosses or other things would be useful to everyone. It has even been proven by the pokemon companies that game making companies know little about people. If people make it, there is a garentied to have people liking it for we know what we know. In videos, it become real. There should be a download screen.

You wondered what we thought of turning Metroid into a boss rush right? Well for me the appeal of Metroid isn't the exploration or the fighting, it's the fact you play as a 6'3 trigger happy amazon. I'd play it more for the story than anything else. Spending hours trying to find your way through the game, that's not fun. To kill Crocomire and turn him into a skeleton by knocking him into lava, killing Mother Brain, that's fun. It's even more fun because it's Samus, not some Master Chief douche.

@Lookin4aBoxToLive What I'm trying to say is I enjoy Metroid for the story, for the character, rather than the exploration or the shooting. To be honest even if you look at Medal of Honor or Black Ops, as cool as it would be to fight in the Cold War or Afghanistan it's basically been done. So I look for what would make it appeal. For Metroid it's Samus, it's her character, her story. For Call of Duty, for me it's how brutal war is. It's playing through Chernobyl. For me that's the appeal.

I believe this ROM hack is incredibly weird, but I can imagine that I'd like it a lot more than a ROM hack that was Super Metroid WITHOUT the bosses, I mean, I'm sure it would feel like an empty, shallow game of just running from one place to the next. Less would feel at stake. I guess one cannot be without the other to complete the awesomeness that is Super Metroid. I'm a hardcore Metroid fan myself, even I find this pretty whack and not so appealing. Though your commentary makes it appealing.

I have played Super metroid impossible. that game was hell. I think of this as a Rom Hack version of the Castlevania boss rush. i would like it as a challenge, but just like metroid impossible, it gets old after i a bit i would imagine. but it is a lot like Boss Rush mode for Castlevania. yes and no. my opinion would be that if it was an "add on" to the original. like half way through the game u can fight ALL the bosses mini bosses included, with out a refull station or what not, only items and health u get is from killing the bosses. at the end...hyper beam. if i knew how to rom hack...id do it
