  • Every comment having to do with the Catholic faith is fine, but whatever illusion you have that chaos math has something to do with the end of the wpr

  • it totally took me back to my math classes about mobius-strips and klein-bottle's

  • and this proves...what?

  • (mentally) Picture this:

Your somewhere, anywhere. Inside, outside; anywhere. Look forward, and if you have sufficient vision you will see something. You can take a photo of it. Some photo's are pretty long, but try to imagine what the photo would look like, if it showed everything in a 360 degree's angle, like you turned your head all the way around and took a photo of what you saw.

Still, consider the different angles at whitch you view things when doing this.

  • will this get me a 100 grand a year job?? thought so

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • Pretty pictures...

    not much about math,

the music is VERY VERY distracting.... makes your ears want to spit.

  • Wow! its amazing to see the equations converting into the form of curves and other shapes.

  • I'd rather say the beauty of the universe maths aren't beautiful.Maths is just a tool without our minds ability to find meaning in paterns maths are just a torrent of meaningless numbers with a tiny bit of usefull information. Greek philosophers centuries ago thought of things that we now just start to understand through physics and maths.

  • Can you share the intro?

  • Speaking about beauty of the math, you put the ugliest music that annoyed my ears

  • beautiful...

  • lol epic mac title sequence made me so happy

  • What program did you use to visualize this?>

  • this whole video seems like one big intro

  • 3 and 8 were reversed in the third component

  • Awesome taste awesome channel.

  • There are no initial values defined. x = -10, y=10, z = 25. I think, though I am still a math student.

  • my friend.....you show us video with maths and you wellcome us in most language except greek...........the nation were maths born.......Well............ καλως ηρθατε!!

  • fuckin nerds hahaha i say that with respect

  • 1:29 those are some sexy curves

  • Ive always found math to be absolutely fascinating. The fact that almost anything can be accomplished with the proper mathematical formula. However, I have been cursed since birth with simply being inept at math. even basic multiplication makes my mind work. I suppose It's the price i paid for my natural talent with words.

  • OK - math friends - stop it at 49 sec and tell me what what's wrong with that picture :-)

  • upps =)

  • @ut1880h A few notation errors and an accidental reciprocal.

All of the top d(x,y,z)/dt's need to be shown as equivalent = to their parts to the right of them. Then the equal sign needs to be taken away after d/dt in the bottom. d/dt is an operation, not a placeholder. Then the -3/8 in the bottom should be -8/3 as declared by dz/dt at the top.

Then these are two statements of the equations governing the Lorentz oscillator.

  • the 8/3 switched to 3/8... not good

  • Comment removed

  • @ut1880h the 8/3 and 3/8 are mixed up...right?

  • @jasondmcneill Yes and also the "=" after d/dt shouldn't be there since you wanna derive the vector (x,y,z).

  • @ut1880h Good observation

  • Why does it start with welcome in many languages?

  • @deoxy999

Because everyone likes OS X, so why not feature the video that hides the initial boot sequence in it. =P

Aside: Great videos, what software do you use to render these?

  • What is this song?

  • Just thinking about the twin prime conjecture makes me randy ... I think I have a problem.

  • I think each color is a variable like 'x' or 'y'.

  • This vid doesn't tell you much about maths, it's just a hefty load of eye candy.

  • @Smashedupcar300 you can write a mathematical formula for all those

  • @Cioby666 Maybe so but they weren't explained in the video.

  • At first I didn't realize you'd stolen all of the graphics used in this video. You need to give these people CREDIT!

    Lame!

  • lol beginning of vid is when you start your MAC up when finished installing hahahaha

  • 2+2= 5?

  • may I ask - does the creator know which software was used for generations?

  • I bet it were the ChaosScopeor at least you can make every other effects including the coloring algorythm with that software except the Riemann sphare at 1:15, of course.... . Check it on the chaosscope . org

  • it looks like blender. which is a free 3D graphics download

  • What about giving credits to the people who originally created the

material you simply reuse, and claim to be "your video"?

    Jos Leys did the visualizations (w w w . josleys . com),

    and Etienne Ghys did the mathematics (w w w . umpa . ens-lyon . fr / ~ ghys).

    It is explained here: w w w . josleys . com / articles / ams_article / Lorenz3 . htm.

(ultrastupid youtube does not allow links in comments...)

  • where is the relation ships between these thing and math????

  • 0:48 genius

  • These are the graphical representations of mathematical functions. It's really just a way to visualize what the numbers mean.

For example, I'm sure at your school they had you or will have you graph a simple function like

    f(x) = x^2

You will notice that the slope (relationship between x and y) will increase as you increase x from zero and also as you decrease x from zero.

You don't necessary need a graph to notice this, but it's an easier way to see the big picture. Same applies to this vid

  • Geometry without algebra is dumb, and algebra without geometry is blind.

  • where will you be when the drugs wear off?

  • Does somebody knows the music?

    LG Vio

  • Wind up

  • Die perfekte Musik und außergewöhnliche Vision Topologie.....

  • it would be much nicer to understand if you could have someone explaining it

  • Hello. Do you have the full documentary (with the explanations and everything)? If yes can you send me/post on youtube the url or the wed ad? Thank you

  • So, you just got those videos from that math visualization project, removed the narrator's voice explaining everything and slapped a random electronic music you like on it.

Thanks for stealing content and making it less interesting at the same time. :|

If you had kept the audio, at least the informative content wouldn't have been lost. You should at least link to the source.

  • i actually thought that he had made the videos himself , could you link me the original ones ??

    RhX here btw ;p

  • If teachers showed their students this sort of stuff in, say, high school, I bet it would convince way more kids to actually stick with math...

  • I envy pure mathematicians for being so close to nature and natural phenomena.

  • Es increible las matematicas, es lo que trasmite este video. Me ha gustado en especial las magnificas transformaciones de Mobius que las tenemos dentro de nosotros.

    Maritza

  • The sequence starting at 1:15 -- Is it from the video "Moebius Transformations Revealed" by D. Arnold and J. Rogness?

  • Yes. This guy is just stealing random math videos and putting music over the narration. It's pretty sad.

  • Wonderful Job :))

  • I disagree, pure maths is where it's at! You're mind isn't restricted by life, and there always ends up being some strange use for your discoveries!

  • pure maths sucks.. applied maths rules

  • That's the best thing I've ever seen anyone get thumbs down for

  • What kind of mathematical software did you use to create those marvelous surfaces ?

  • Nice, just like the first one!

Great topology study, i love the part on Möbius transformations!
