Why not try (less revolution) the front driver motor with bigger diameter wheel 26"..and the "2nd rear motor with bigger Watt n Current but Smaller wheel 24 (more turn faster)"to generate back electricity into the Battery, both motor with single powerful DC Blocking "Diode". So you might get "double Travelling Distance or more" without charging it regulary at home
Yes, Busettii Bikes have the good pedaling system so you can use it as a bike or pedal with the motor. I have one and it runs about 75--85 miles per charge but you can also pedal like a regular bike. Also, it really goes fast even in throttle mode. Check out busettii dot com if you need more info. ciao
@WizzleThump the green-red thing in the video is a cruise control unit, both the cruise and the throttle connect to the controller.. and yes.. the throttle can be thumb, or twist, full or half grip.
im running a phoenix hub motor on 36 volts and have about 3000 miles on it no problem.i put a electric motor on my bike because i heard its illegal to pedal azz.happy motoring past the gas stations.
Where my family lives a totally silent motor will get you into trouble real fast. Here we have a lot of free roaming animals, deer, etc., around and if they can't hear you coming down the road they will walk out in front of you. The whine of the brush type motors is like an alarm to them and they tend to shy away from it. It's a real life saver !!
Why not make a noisemaker? Playing card flipping through the spokes? (meaning: making a motor 'noisy' for animal protection does not make sense; there are other and better ways, yes?
I'm looking to eventually get one, what kind of motor should I get? Geared? Hub? Brushless? Crystalyte? No-name, X5, I'm kinda lost. And what should my battery weight limit be? say 30lbs??
The motor is aprox 500 $, the controller is 200 to 300 $ again depending on what you want to do.. etc.. not cheap, but they last a long.. long time !!!
This is about as quiet as it gets. Any motor will make a humming sound you can hear when it's quiet. You couldn't hear an X5 in even mild traffic. The freewheel ratcheting is far louder.
Hmm, do tell. I'm fairly up on what's going on in the ebike world, and I haven't heard of anything being much quieter than your typical DD hub. I've got a vid up of a BD36 running on 72V. The audio is pretty loud, but you can clearly hear the whooshing of the spokes over the noise the motor's making.
The red-green-black thing is a cruise control console !
Hit the throttle, then push " cruise " .. keep on rolling. ( good for long trips, you don't get thumb cramps with the throttle position )
The X5302 should not be run at 72v unless you like to drag race. Dewalt with A123 Lithium FePo4 batteries are a good match, but you need to paralell enough to make 12ah + for any real amount of range. not cheap.

Deer? Come on people, if that's a problem carry a friggin whistle and blow it when you see a deer (or Kangaroo or elephant or wildebeest whatever).
People always find the most bizarre objections 'eh

Looks fun!! Any action shots?

The motor, yet un-spoked/wheeled, demonstrates perfect dynamic spin balance. I like that.
It's a direct drive motor, right? (no internal gearing). It's a speed monster for sure. Nice video demo of power on tap!

How about then, a deer whistle, a sound system?

Do you hear this video? It's not silent. Animals hear much more than people do, and I hear this motor crystal clear.
LoomisLoftis 3 years ago
True besides cars make a noise and deer jump in front of then anyway. Maybe the lower range will actually scare them off better.
