In Japan they try to overdo it with the cuteness and it just becomes cringy (not a word I know) watching it. @anime0pop i kind of agree.. but at the same time, in my eyes it seems more that asian countries have pop music that mimics more where America's pop music was in the 90s and early 2000s versus what we find popular now. Asia is still very focused on groups of people singing, like boy bands and girl bands. that's what i find appealing, so i gravitate more towards korean music instead of my native american music.. but i do agree that they also absorb american influence into their music!

I see what you're trying to get at, but the majority of asia actually listens to K-Pop. In fact, a k-pop group called TVXQ set a guiness world record for having the most fans. That's not just in asia; it's worldwide.

I love Korean pop music, but I seriously, honestly doubt that people who say that Korean music is better than American music actually know what's going on other than the mainstream industry. There's more to American music other than what's on MTV or CD commercials.

That is the issue though. Where does one go in the USA to get this non-mainstream music? Other countries like Korea and Japan (only ones I really watch tv from and can attest to, but obv other countries as well) actually have MTV that plays music and several other tv channels that do nothing but music that don't require extra subscriptions and such.(and not all mainstream)

@NarutoLoverify You're 13....that says it all. Koreans can't dance and the music is a pathetic copy of American bands - often down to the note. It's really very sad, they have no shame. Further their bands are all cut up plastic surgery victims as well, I doubt their family would recognize them. They all wish they were white, I guess or at least that they had rounder eyes, half of them have had them done. There are videos on Youtube showing before and after pics.

I love Korean pop music, but I seriously, honestly doubt that people who say that Korean music is better than American music actually know what's going on other than the mainstream industry. There's more to American music other than what's on MTV or CD commercials.
Just had to get that out there, even though I'm probably the only person on here who feels this way. /shrug

That is the issue though. Where does one go in the USA to get this non-mainstream music? Other countries like Korea and Japan (only ones I really watch tv from and can attest to, but obv other countries as well) actually have MTV that plays music and several other tv channels that do nothing but music that don't require extra subscriptions and such.(and not all mainstream)
Sometimes I get suggestions from friends but I'm really at a loss to find music equal to Kpop/Jpop in happiness.
