I have a suggestion for something to add to your summer list. So it will be 6. But 6 isn't so bad a number, it's 1 more than 5 :)

6: Go to some place where you can hear a wooden screen door close shut.

Those places are always awesome. I have this little corner store in a small town nearby. I go there once (at least) every summer and get some ice cream and sit out on their picnic table outside to eat it. There is something about the sound those doors make that is just..... comforting.

I totally agree with you Brigitte. I never really stop getting excited about summer. Even if I'm still busy during summer, I still go out a lot more and have more fun.

my summer goals:

1) Have at least one weekend where I spend one day at huntington beach, go to a concert, then camp illegally in mount baldy (because i HAVE done it before)

2)reorganize all my drawers and my bookcases

3) Get straight A's

4) get a better job

Oh how I loved summer vacation. Summer vacation was like that land in Spirited Away except the good version. I spent so much time with my best friend and it was always awesome. The last day of summer vacations were like Chis Reeve in Somewhere In Time when he saw *the penny*. Now there's just October when everything starts to go to sleep or die with such strange colors and I have classical music in my head. ;)

since i'm out of college, i always forget about summer vacation.

i'm a wedding photographer, so the only time of the year i'm actually working is summer anyway.

when i was in school, i was partial to winter break. since it's so short, you always seem to take more advantage of the time off. summers were always 'oh, i should do this. i'll do it later' and the next thing you know, it's the week before school starts and you're sad about wasting your entire summer.
