Prisoner: Cell Block H was a bigger hit at my school then Neighbours and Home and Away. I was a big fan of it, my mum gave up telling me to go to bed when it was on.
67psych I second every word of your comment! I used to go to school baggy eyed! Lizzie and the freak were my favourite 2 characters, it's was also good watching other Ozzie soaps and seeing half the cast of prisoner in them. Hey do you remember stan the gardener from prisoner? So many memories!
Prisoner Rules!! Lizzie is THE BEST character on a Tv prog EVER!! My Gran got this single in a charity shop in late 90's for 50p! Still got it now!! Those were the days, late 80's/early 90's staying up half the nite waiting for prisoner to come on (STV) then being knackered all day at school the next day!! LOL!
Love the way they tell us nothing about the lady singing.Steve Wright takes the piss at the end as well fucking great.Throw in insulting Angry Anderson and I can see why Australian people think we are horrible. Its a nice song and totp2 has given more background to far lesser songs. If they have done no research on the girl singing then dont show it.
I believe Yorkshire TV started in 1984 with heavily edited episodes. Central and others in 1987,my region Granada in February 1988.Central finished showing the series full run in October 1991 and Granada was second in February 1995. The other ITV regions kept messing about with the screenings and took longer to show it all,and at least 4 regions only got to mid to late 500s and stopped showing it completely as Five had started a complete run that took about four years from 1997-2001.
I love this song and Prisoner cell block H, it was sad when the programme finished. Come on everyone lets wave lit candles from side to side and think of all the guests that Jeremy Kyle have had on his show who have been in prison.
As a born-again Christian playing this video and hearing the words this lady is prophesying her life as she sings the song. The title "On the inside" is based on her belief which is a religion called christian-ism ,that she practices. If this lady has a church i pray that she gets delivered from the clutches of religion!!!
This song will always reminds me of when I was a kid and my parents separated: my younger brother and I would go and stay with my dad at his townhouse in Marsfield and we'd stay up and watch Prisoner until we were told to go to bed. I guess it was a time in our lives where everything seemed surreal - a time where we weren't ready to face the reality of what was happening in our lives. For some reason, hearing this song always gave me comfort and it's remained a favourite throughout the years.
@stevesfav I bought it. Type in On the Inside and Lynne Hamilton. A group called Studio Group rerecorded it. I believe it says On The Inside Sound A Like as made famount by Lynne Hamilton.
Do you like this song? If so you may like to check out the dance version of this tune which I have posted on Youtube. Search for "Prisoner by DJ Switchback".
As a youth I would flip channels looking for late night filth (in those days you might have been looking for the Hitman and Her for example, times were tough - it was a mastubatory wilderness out there) and this would come on. I couldn't continue, the trousers had to go back on. I wonder, could anyone masturbate with this on? I challenge you good people - it can't be done can it?
Although you lack imagination - the masturbators faithful ally! Do yo recall Mrs Morris....Dorr.....Lizzie?!!! Forget everything you thought you knew!
ha ha ha ha ha,fuckin hilarious,,i used 2 shuffle one out to the old govenor or the blonde english chick,,but late night foreign films on ch4 were always worth a shot!
