the touch screens in normal tablet pcs are different from the apple ones. Apple has capacitive touch, which means you can't use a stylus, only your skin, and conventional tablets have resistive, which means you can touch it with anything, but can't have multitouch.

just to pitch in a note about touch screen, wich is an ingenious idea and thing to do actually. touch screen isn't as complex or amazing as most people think. all that is going on with touch screen is for every pixel on a moniter has a speciffic place (like a graph if you will) with the y intercept flip because a computer prints your screen from the top left corner to the right being "x" and "y" going down and when your fingers electricity come in contact with the glass it transfers ----

Dude, u have no idea how long I have been thinking of this, ever since they cam eout with the iphone I've been wanted them to put their touchscreen tech into a tablet PC. no some modbook or a SCREEN KEYBOARD. that's a stupid Idea, because u need to be almost looking at it and there is no FEELING. Sure for the phone that was great, but not a computer. MAKE A TABLET. rotating screen, keyboard. Drawing, watching movies while it's standing. I mean seriously. Apple touch screen on a tablet PC DO IT!!

i think the reason they wont out a tablet on it cuz already the pro costs like 2000 and if they put a tablet it wont be cheap i dont students will be able to afford it

me to totaly especialy for college!!!. APPLE MAKE A CONVERTABLE TABLET!!!!! right now for me thats the differnce in what I will buy next year, I want a mac book pro but if a think pad lets me take notes freehand in class and doesnt obstruct my veiw of the instructor then i guess thats what im going to get. someone should start a petition lol
