@doomsdayk20 I agree very much. I own an 05 srt-4 with mods and tune. The head is the major restriction where the only problem I ever saw with the k series motors was the lack of forced induction. That is one wicked ass engine. I used to be a Honda technician. Love that motor and always will. Too bad the mopar engineers didn't design a better flowing head.

@gruneygunnar Civic Type-R's and Si's are all based off of economy cars, it would be ridiculous for Honda to manufacture a civic trim level with a drivetrain that's completely opposite of the base model. I didn't touch on the FI aspect because that's pretty much guaranteed if Honda wants to sell a fast Civic overseas. The current CTR was canned because of EU's strict emission laws. Mugen is also a company that is closely tied to Honda and producing a special edition of a Civic Si is different than building a car they encourage you to modify. There's reasons why most modifications void your warranty. You're forgetting about allotting room for the transmission and rear differential which means the trunk space will be reduced and the floorpan altered which again, doesn't make sense for one trim level.
@gruneygunnar I know Honda's noticed, they ran an ad campaign called "Civic Nation" years back showcasing modified Civics. That being the case, the amount of Civics that are sold and driven around as stock cars and not modified in any major capacity outnumber those that are. Civic's carry enough of a stigma as "rice rockets" that most people in the market for an affordable FR car wouldn't consider them just on the basis of brand loyalty.

My srt4 and all my friends srt4s have been extremely reliable. If you maintain it (like any other car) you will not run into problems. Unfortunately, most people beat the crap out of them and neglect the maintenance upkeep.

@twenty10si anybody can have a 400+hp car and not know how to drive it. you said it as if that only applies to srt4 owners. and how is this the continuous argument from honda owners? if you have two $22k cars how can putting 3-4k in mods on one of them be considered leveling the playing field. i bought my car BECAUSE it was turbo, it had a ton more tq than a civic, it ran 13.9s off the showroom floor and it was easy to mod. i could have bought an si for the same price but i wanted all of that.

@twenty10si dude i absolutely understand what you are trying to say but you're not getting my point. an si and an srt4 cost the same amount off the showroom floor. a type s was actually a couple grand more than an srt4. and the srt4 was faster stock vs stock by far against either the si or type s. and really even with a turbo the si or type s wouldn't mess with a full bolt on and upgraded turbo srt4. a full bolt on STOCK turbo srt4 can run mid 12s easy. a turbo si or type s cant do that.

Why don't you research into their dependability? I have a few friends who have owned them. They were fast as fuck, don't get me wrong... but each one was unreliable and broke down regularly... and not in good ways.

My srt4 and all my friends srt4s have been extremely reliable. If you maintain it (like any other car) you will not run into problems. Unfortunately, most people beat the crap out of them and neglect the maintenance upkeep.
I love the sound of the two acuras side by side!

all these people complaining and saying how the srt 4 isn't very reliable.. I've owned a civic with full bolts on (sold) and now an 04 "neon" srt 4. it has full coilovers carbon trunk, ready to go big turbo and stg3 head.. yeah it's very reliable and WELL MAINTAINED.. not a single problem going on 3 yrs now. My civic was very reliable as well, IMO if you take care of your car, she will take car of you.

And the internals can't take it, I know 2 people who blew k20's cause they had stock internals running boost shithead. And it STILL costs more LOL
