I tod ppl from NASA have brilliant brains , they are not stupid like me , althou i have a question to all of those ppl. What about that nonsense "dont try this at home" ?
all u people sayin sciencey stuff hurt my head. partly because of pollen and im sick though. but $20 bux says god watched this video as a kid or something.
There arn't any square planets because the centre of gravity pulls on the entire of the surface of the planet evenly. Its also because the planet is trying to find the lowest surface density which is acheived through having a spherical shape.
At the beginning of a Solar System, there are no large planets of ice. Even now the Earth is a thin 30 mile crust with almost the rest of the planet being molten. Then another planet 40 -60% the size, almost mostly molten hits the first one, even at one 1mile/sec, the energy is tremendous, the result being a melding of the two, with oscillations eventually forming a round planet and lots of shrapnel forming a smaller satellite, after 10's of millions of years.
"doesn't seem right" : remember planets are millions of times bigger than the rocks experienced in daily life.
If you bang two small rocks together, the heat generated is insignificant. There is some, but you don't notice it.
Scale the whole experiment up to planet-size, and make sure the speed of banging is many thousands of miles per hour, then there is significant heat. (Think of F1 cars' glowing brake discs, at a mere 200 mph). The heat has got nowhere to go, so the whole thing melts.
collision happen in asteroid belt all the time some being miles in scale yet they do not liquidize ,there are just to many variables in play, one such variable is that of + and - pole of each body which can also effect conditions ,to see 2 great mass's to instantaneous liquidize and merge into a single sphere is not correct
the heat friction is caused from pressure but that pressure force will be so strong as to ignore pulling force of either and will repel as each & every piece retain its mass
the simulated animations doesn't seem wright why would both planets simultaneously liquidize were both are floating with no opposite force after impact even if planets gravity pulled them together the planet would simply assume a capsule shape before millions of years and eventually the 2 cores pulling closer generating insane quakes and volcanic(liquidation) inner core activities the new formed planet would still form a capsule~hen egg shape
The smaller planet completely vaporizes, the impact of it on the larger planet causes the larger planet's surface to heat up so much that it becomes molten.
But what you're doing is wrong- you can't simplify this process that much.
The planets are not completely made of ice or snow- there's other materials, such as metals and rock.
Also, there's not much force/energy when you combine two snow balls by hand, but when you have two massive objects colliding with each other, you have the tremendous amount of energy necessary to vaporize.
You're confusing surface activity with the planet's overall energy.
im not confusing surface activitys the ice in the ball could be of any element that is why i said it was simplified ,ok another way trajectory's the target planet like earth friction caused by its orbit to a star which creates a stable active molten core the colliding planet foreign body stray from its solar system has inactive non molten core simply because of no friction so it became cold and brittle as shattered glass ,when these two collide they will repel trajectory's "pluto & charon"
Why is this video titled "How to build a Planet" when it seem to be describing the impact of two bodies colliding?

there are to many variables but instant vaporize and liquidation just from 2 inactive balls colliding i will not believe
,make it more simple explanation make 2 snow balls and push them together do not cup your hands , only use palms
1:snow is made from frozen liquid
2:density of ice on each ball will react different slushy or compact
3:mass of the balls will break and only most compacted will merge
4:no sphere is formed from the impaction
5:what is left is basically a commit in shape
