  • Man,they even announce the changes for the lines just like in Vienna, nice. English is very important there in my opinion.

  • How cool is that? Students learning English can study on their way to school.

  • It´s the same kind of announcement in Berlin underground

  • Wooooo Yamanote line!

浜松著 is where you get off to see Tokyo Tower... I did anyway.

I think it's also where I got off to cross Rainbow Bridge...

Good times... I miss Japan so much...

  • @LetsBurnSomething Kamiyacho on Hibiya Line, Onarimon on Mita Line and Akabanebashi on Oedo Line are FAR closer to Tokyo Tower than Hamamatsucho, just so you know should you return.

  • hahahaha funny laugh at 0:38 0:40 lol

  • @xMazingerZ what kinda dumbass language is that? learn english and we'll listen

  • @broxboy86 Lol. Yet another frustranted and narrow-minded native english speaker who'll never know the joy of learning another language. Look, I'm 21 and I already spent 6 months in Japan on my own, speaking only in japanese. Best 6 months of my life!! I guess this kind of experience is out of reach for you, how sad:(

C'est quand même affligeant de voir que certaines personnes n'ont aucun respect envers les langues étrangères! Ils ne savent pas ce qu'ils perdent!

    残念ながら英語だけが話せる人は時々威張りすぎだね。

  • @oONodokaOo you frogs are just jealous coz your language was number 1. don't worry, our time at the top will end as well. til then, suck my balls celine dion

  • @xMazingerZ C'est appellé hospitalité et service

  • @xMazingerZ Levesque est mort,t'se.

  • @yardlet6

    Et alors?

  • wow a tv on a japanese train that teaches them english...weird

  • JReast (East Japan Railway Company) is one of the largest private railway company in Japan.

Yamanote line is the most important line in JR east.

  • Yamanote line...D

  • Thats cool!! I had no idea!

I wonder if the Japanese see it as an unwelcome language invasion?

  • awesome ; )

  • Thanks Oleh2011

  • so much people know english from other countries i had a friend who learend it in two weeks but i didnt know him at that time

  • epic fail scorpion

  • ur probably talking about the difference between "learnt" and "learned"

    am i right?

  • ?uhmm yea... i likepizza :D

  • not much difference between the two.

  • That's great that the train has English! I thought I heard it say "I'm lonely", but I could be mistaken.

  • Heya Akin242002, thanks for your reply. That's actually my friend reading the short English language lesson they play sometimes during journeys. The English announcment doesn't start until 1:22 .... LOL

  • good speak english. i don't speak english

  • i think as long as you are in the metropolitan area, they'll have english pre-recorded announcements....they have it as far as ibaraki (like JR mito line)

  • Now, in 2009, English announcements have been introduced in many lines around Tokyo, but at that time, in 2006, they had been done only a few lines, such as Yamanote line in the video.

  • "this is the yamanote line train bound for tokyo and shinagawa. The next station is okachimachi. The doors on the left side will open. Please change it for the oedo subway line". (-_-')... miss japan

  • Omg I just did this a few months ago. I miss Japan already. :(

  • the lady's voice is from video shown on the left screen. it's actually an ad for private English school.

  • This video is not about the "Lets learn English" on the TV. Rather its about the english anouncement that occurs near 1:20. The next station Hamamatsucho...

  • do they show you AV movies after all?

im going to travel to japan in next summer. so fking excited about the trip..im going to hook up with some japanese girl! wish me luck guys..

  • i'm going back there again in 34 days time - my 4th visit in 4 years. It's an infectious place.

  • This is making me miss Japan a lot. What a fun country to visit.

  • damn the train is much much better than in the US..

  • how unique!

  • I'm American and I found allot of things better, more high tech as well as more efficient in Japan than America.I have traveled there twice.

  • Pretty much everything in Japan is better than America

  • Amen

  • What do you know? I've studied japanese culture as long as I can remember. I'm a huge fan of all things japanese. But your statement that pretty much everything in Japan is better than America is groundless. Youtube is an American invention, as is google, and the internet. Think before you speak.

  • I'm pretty sure the Internet is an English invention. I know the computer is English(Charles Babbage created it and became a laughing stock to such an extent that only 3 people turned up to his funeral). I'm sure I've heard/read the Internet is English as well. You are right about the others though, YouTube and Google are American, obviously.

  • It pretty well accepted that ARPANET a design by the US department of defense was the precursor to the internet. Then the University of California in LA took the design and made a netword from Menlo Park to London back to the University of Cal. It is an American invention, but London was one of its first destinations.

  • I knew of Arpanet but didn't know the details, so thanks. I guess the Internet is American then. It just went on a nice day trip to London.

  • "HIGH TECH"?! =.="

  • the left guy is reading manga XD

  • The JR/Berlitz english lesson once taught me the phrase 'You have starry eyes.' lol...

  • Omg, hearing this brings back such great times I had in japan... I love Yamanote Line, I think its one of the best lines out of JR Tokyo. Its so high tech in comparison to others.

  • I appreciated the subject. However, shooting video quality need more improvement. In relevance to subject, there should have been close-up to English transcript where the Names of the Next station is shown. Otherwise, its a good try.

  • Thanx Chaskarmukund. I was trying to take it as best I could. It's only a digital camera so I can't do much with that. But thanx for your comment.

  • there train is so wide, clean and comfortable..in ours it's not that really big (canada)

  • And, heh, this train is on a 3ft 6in narrow gauge. =)

  • what line is it and what station

  • This is the Yamanote Line as 'joinourdreams' as written but I can't exactly remember the name this exact station.

  • YAMANOTE-SEN!

    japanese tarin is so comfortable

  • Wow! That's amazing.

  • I absolutly love the music the plays when the trains stops at the station. Does it represent anything? If so, what?

  • Each train station in Japan has its own melody so you know where you are when you get off without reading. That's one of the small things I miss about Japan.

  • Wow, I didn't realise that! I'll have to take better notice next time ... I thought it was just a 5 second countdown or something before the doors closed. Interesting ...

  • The "L" train in Chicago is much nicer than the trains in Tokyo. Much more smoother.

  • that was sarcasm by the way...

  • Have you got a clip for us?

  • At least 'L' train does not have LCD screen on every each door... Tokyo's train have larger capacity so they make more sound.

  • lol, they should have it more often, because English is becoming more common :o

  • gosh i miss it so much T__T

btw I <33 the music they're playing everytime the train stops at a station ^^

  • why why why. No rude! got no reason for it to be rude!

  • Thank you 'hidenfire.'
