I had worse luck than you. I have been filming my videos for this on my phone, since it it easier. So, I went out, filmed the sunset, it was all pretty and stuff. Then an hour later when I go to upload it, I realize that instead of filming myself, I had just taken one blurry picture of myself.

haaaaa i would recognise that fountain anywhere... southampton rocks. not sure if you know about this, but if you walk 10 meters from that very spot, there is this weird statue which just looks like 4 massive poles coming from the ground... if you kick this statue you get weird doctor who space noises. If you think the sunset was a fail then just wait for sunrise. Most overrated moment in the natural world. You get up ridiculously early, then it just... gets light. No dramatic colours or rising ball of flames... just gets light.
