Thanks again. The part about an implicit promise of progress through technologies toward betterness or approximate utopia seems to relate to the disatisfaction necessary for a growth economy. The dependence of future generations on these tools does seem to lead to fear of loss of tools because people never start with the ability to live without them. It has drawn our conscious minds (very quickly) into a state of near permanent estrangement from biological patterns we've evolved within.
Schumacher was wise and intelligent, as his writings show... Should be mainstream literature if you ask me. Good on you for sharing it.
