  • how much? with harness/wing/reserve, expect to pay $5000-6000 new, or half that if buying used.

    You don't need a license per se, but USHPA rates pilots by skill level, and you need a novice rating to fly solo, sometimes supervised at certain sites, and you get your ratings through instruction, so yes, it's kind of like a license.
